I would go with the Eric Tamiyasu case. That would make an oscar caliber story!!

That one would be very interesting since there are so many events in that case. I'd also like to see feature length films on these cases as well:

Eric Tamiyasu is an interesting "Agatha Christie" style mystery, but I feel at best it would make an okay episode of CSI or NCIS or whatever.

Oscar worthy is a stretch

1. The Circleville Writer would make a frightening movie. IMHO.

2. The problem with Blair Adams is that there is so little known about th case, a lot of it would have to be made up.

My choices
1. Cindy James-would be a perfect star trailer for some actress. Heck UM even gave them the perfect title-Scared to Death
2. Danny Casalaro/Octopus/Charles Morgan-- There's enough there for SIX movies!!!
3. Tammy Leppert- interesting story that could attract the teens in the theatres. a sort of dark version for the "Gossip Girl" crowd.
4. Liz Carmichael & the Dale - the story is so bizzare it HAS to be a movie.
5. Eliot Ness & the Torso Murderer- would be a fine "Zodiac" like movie. Maybe Kevin Costner is interested in reprising his role.

6. Ohio Prostitute Serial Killer- would be the most realistic and modern day Jack the Ripper tale. I call dibbs on Jeff Daniels staring as the reporter!

Would be an interesting social commentary on the lives of prostitutes and women in general.
7. Justin Burgwinkel- would be a very relevant story today. It would be fun just to cast his girlfriend Yolanda.

8. The Zip Gun Bomber- would be very relevent considering the whole Anthrax scare.
9. Ressurection Mary- could be a very original and intersting ghost story with some romance elements in it.
10. Black Hope Curse- would make a frightening horror film
11. Mothman- I mean a better one then that crappy Richard Gere version!!!

Get David Lynch to direct
12.David Stone- would make a great introspective movie about the search for oneself. Get Lynch to direct this one also.
13. The Wackers-probably have to recast as a younger couple though!

14. Missing Time- Would make a great TV series.

The Jesse James Hollywood case made a great movie (Alpha Dog). But cases that would make good movies, here is what I think:

They should do one about William Bradford Bishop....the man who killed his entire family and went on the run...presumably.

Speaking of which and this is off topic slightly, did the John List murders happen before or after the Bishop case? I'm asking because I could have sworn I've seen a movie about one of these cases (they're so similar). I don't think I saw it on Lifetime though. I wish I could remember more about that movie because it's been years since I've seen the movie.

I always thought the tommy burkett case would make the best movie. Everyone involved seems corrupt.

IIRC, John List murdered his family about 1971. The Bishop murders were 1976.

Yeah, they did a TV movie on John List. I saw it about 10 years ago, but I can't seem to find it online.
