Were there any cases that made you personally bothered and maybe really feel for the victims or their friends and family because of the circumstances of the case? Here are mine:
Nick Markowitz-he had so much to live for, and it was taken away by Jesse James Hollywood. Glad the SOB will pay. Patsy Wright-a woman who seemed very beautiful and sweet. ashame the killer has gotten away with it. Tara Calico-another seemingly sweet woman who had everything taken from her. McAllisters-Gord was distraught and hoped that the killer would at least get caught if he came after him. Stallings family-Patty was made a scapegoat because the prosecution was more interested in blaming someone instead of finding the truth. |

The missing kids cases always got to me. I also always felt bad for parents whose kids died of "suicide" but under suspicious circumstances (Tony Lombardo, Jeffrey Dingman, et. al.).
But the ONE case that to this day just pulls at my heart strings more than any other has to be Gordon Page Jr. I just feel so unbelievably bad for Gordon, Sr. and how he would give anything to go back to the day he last saw his son. I know it isn't the most tragic case but it always got to me. Once my son was born, it made it even worse. Just the thought that you are trying to do the best for your boy and then he disppears, possibly trying to make his way back to you. My only hope is that Gordy Jr. either found a decent life in a shelter or died a quick, painless death. I would hate to think he wondered and died from the elements or got taken advantage of. So sad...

The Amy Billig case bothered me. A girl disappears and her anguished mother never finds out what happens to her.

Gus Hoffman, Cathy Hobbs, and without a doubt Megan Curl. All three of those cases make me angry.

The Dana Point, California, Jane Doe. I'm betting he feels awful now, but I want to throttle that cab driver who thought it was perfectly acceptable to leave a teenage/very early twenties girl by a cliff, out in the middle of nowhere, at 4 AM. I recognize that he needs to make money, but it's still an utterly reckless disregard for his customer's safety. Add on to this the fact that she was suicidal and apparently extremely withdrawn, and it's just ugh. Her life might have been savable.

The Boat Hit and Run and Jennifer Pratt.
It's amazing the pain and suffering they had to go through!

Def the one about the little boy who was shot when some arsehole shot into his family's car. I still think about that little boy and the pain that his parents showed on that. Especially when they said he put his teddy bear up to his face to try and protect himself. I was so happy to hear that they got the jerk who did this.
Also, the Morgan Nick case...it really amazed me how her mom and so many people could be so close to her and this man take her out of nowhere. Gordan McAllister as well. He had such love for his wife. I am glad they are in heaven together again. |

The mother of Alex Olive (young biracial child who was kidnapped by his father and cult). My heart breaks everytime I see this episode because you can see the sadness and guilt in her eyes. I have heard that Alex may have been killed by his father and I HATE that. I hope that's not true.

All the missing and murdered children cases get to me!
The case of Veronica (Valerie?) Johnson, the young lady who went missing after shopping at a grocery store, and later found murdered, always saddened me. She was smart, lovely, career-oriented and had her life snuffed out by some perv! Also, even though the case was mentioned by someone upthread, the Gordon Page, Jr. case was sad. It was like his father knew something bad would happen in his gut if Gordy was left at that group home. But he listened to the "professionals" and look at all the sadness that happened with his son going missing. Reinforcement, for me, to trust my gut and not others! |

Maybe this says more about me than anything...but I'm finding myself not being bothered so much by cases as much as intrigued by the "puzzle" aspect of the cases.
I feel more sorry by people who are not dead by the acts such as "Debbie" and Jennifer Pratt and the Boston Rapist victims. With a lot of the murders, my feeling is that what's happened has happened and that they are hopefully in a better place now. I'm more concerned about catching the killer and figuring out what happened. |

All good ones for sure! So many of the segments really bother me, and certainly scared the blank of me when I was younger.
I think the ones that stick with me the most are the ones where you know that the victim had to endure terror before killed, and I always think about the fear that these poor people had to face; for example: 1. The Oba Chandler segment made me physically sick, thinking about that poor family. 2. The girl who ran through a cemetery to try and escape her abductor, and hit a barbed-wire fence before he caught up with her (I'm glad the scum was finally caught). 3. Roxann and Chrisopher Jeeves- truly despicable case..I'll never forget that even the cop chocked up on television when saying that someone "killed this little boy so close to Christmas." 4. Colleen Reed; as I've said, I will never go to a do-it-yourself car wash again. 5. "Debbie," the woman who was abducted in her bank parking lot and forced to drive for hours while the abductor drank, and then she was raped and left for dead. so many more. |
