Default I Love Lucy Transcripts

Hey, I was just wondering. Has anybody ever tried writting their own transcripts of the I Love Lucy episodes? I found a few online and I'm doing one of my own. Well the episode I'm currently transcribing is "Lucy Thinks Ricky Is Trying To Murder Her". I already have the whole first scene written in the bedroom and I'm looking for some tips on it. It it is below.

I LOVE LUCY

1X01 - Lucy Thinks Ricky Is Trying To Murder Her

Original Airdate: November 5, 1951

Written by: Jess Oppenheimer, Madelyn Pugh Davis & Bob Carroll Jr.

Directed by: Marc Daniels

(START SHOW - BEDROOM)

(OPEN ON CLOSE SHOT BOOK COVER, "THE MOCKING BIRD MURDER MYSTERY". CAMARA PANS PAST COLD CREAM JAR, CHEESE JAR, PAST PLATE OF CRACKERS TO CLOCK, WHICH SAYS 2AM. THEN CAMARA PULLS BACK TO REVEAL LUCY AT DRESSING TABLE READING. SHE IS COMPLETELY ENTHRALLED, HER EYES ARE HUGE AS SHE READ WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A BLOOD-CURDLING STORY. IN A FEW MINUTES SHE BEGINS TO READ WITH HER LIPS MOVING. "AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SLIMY HANDS" SHE READS DOWN TO THE EDGE OF THE PAGE, AND STARTS TO TURN THE PAGE, AND IS AFRAID TO, SHE PEEKS AROUND THE EDGE OF IT, AND THEN STEALS HERSELF TO READ THE NEXT PAGE, WHICH SHE DOES WITH THE SAME ABSORBPTION.)

(RICKY ENTERS WITH A POSTER THAT READS "RICKY RICARDO AND HIS ORGHESTRA AT THE BEAUTIFUL TRAPICANA.)

RICKY: Hi, honey! Look what I got. Pretty good, eh? (HOLDS UP POSTER AND READS IT TO LUCY) "Held Over! Ricky Ricardo and his orchestra at the beautiful Tropicana." Yes, sir... Isn't that wonderful? They want us to stay over another four weeks. If everything goes as well as it did tonight, we'll stay there a hundred years. I took so many bows tonight that I got a Charlie horse in my hip. Boy, they sure regonize talent when they see it.
(RICKY EXITS TO THE BATHROOM. LUCY CONTINUES TO READ HER BOOK WITH THE SAME OBSORBTION AS BEFORE NOT EVEN PAYING ATTENTION TO RICKY. AS LUCY READS SHE TAKES A BIT OF A CRACKER, THEN DIPS IT INTO THE CHEESE JAR, TAKES ANOTHER BITE, AND AGAIN DIPS IT INTO THE COLD CREAM JAR AND EATS IT. RICKY ENTERS FROM THE BATHROOM AND WALKS OVER TO LUCY AT THE DRESSING TABLE.)
RICKY: Good night.
(RICKY LEANS OVER TO KISS LUCY WHICH STARTLES HER AND SHE SCREAMS AND THROWS THE BOOK THROUGH THE WINDOW.)
LUCY: Oh... (PUTS HER HAND ON HER CHEST) My goodness, you scared me! When did you sneak in here?
RICKY: A couple of minutes ago. (KISSES LUCY AND WALKS OVER TO THE BED.)
LUCY: Oh, I must have been so interested in my book. (LOOKS FOR HER BOOK) Where did my book go? Where is my book?
RICKY: It went out the window.
LUCY: Out the window? (STICKS HER HEAD OUT THE WINDOW TO LOOK FOR HER BOOK) I don't see it anywhere.
RICKY: Of course not -- it's dark out there. Good night.
LUCY: Ricky...
RICKY: What?
LUCY: One of us oughta get up and go down and get it.
RICKY: One of us?
LUCY: Yes. (Climbs into bed)
RICKY: Which one of us did you have in mind?
LUCY: Oh, the one that's the biggest and the strongest.
RICKY: Okay. Go ahead.
LUCY: Oh, Ricky.
RICKY: Now, look honey, I'm a husband, not a retriever. Good night.
LUCY: How can I go to sleep till I know who kill her? Let's see... It was either the upstairs maid or the butler or the cook.
RICKY: It was her husband.
LUCY: Her husband? He didn't have any reason to kill her?
RICKY: He was married, wasn't he?
LUCY: (SMACKS RICKY ON THE BUTT) Oh...
RICKY: (SETS UP IN BED) I can see it all now; he worked very hard all day. Got home about 2:00 in the morning. She started pestering him. Wouldn't let him sleep. He stood it as long as he could. Finally, he decided to do away with her. So, he got out of bed... (Gets out of bed) Looked around for a murder weapon. A gun! (POINTS HIS FINGERS LIKE A GUN) Nah... make to much noice. A knife! Aha! (PRETENDS TO HOLD A KNIFE AND RUNS HIS THUMB ALONG THE BLADE AND PRETENDS HE CUT IT.) To sloppy. Aha! A scarf. perfact. (GRABS A SCARF AND WRAPS IT AROUND.) It would do the job quietly and neatly. (LUCY GETS AFRAID AND SHE GRABS HER THOUGHT AND PLOPS DOWN IN THE BED. RICKY PRETENDS TO APROCH THE BED WITH THE SCARF.) Slowly he approaches the bed, murder in his heart, and then... (LUCY SNORES LOUDLY PRETENDING SHE'S ASLEEP AS RICKY HOLDS THE SCARF OVER HER HEAD. HE THEN TURNS OFF THE LIGHT AND GOES TO BED. LUCY THEN SETS UP IN BED PUZZLED)
(END SCENE)

That's the whole first scene before it fades to the next day in the kitchen. I was wondering if anybody else has done any transcripts of I Love Lucy episode and what ones. Please tell me what you think of how I'm doing on mine and feel free to leave me any tips. Thanks.

I think a marvelous book idea would be to release many of the series' scripts in book form. They did with "The Sopranos" and "Frasier" and other shows.

Of course, you couldn't release all 179 scripts as that would take many books, but maybe release a series of. I think it would be great for entertainment and educational purposes.
