Eight months ago we got the sixth season on DVD now we are back with our Girlfriends on DVD, as the seventh season is now available on DVD for the first time from CBS DVD with all 21 episodes on a 3-disc set. Life, love, and comedy collide again in this African American version of Sex and the City!
Girlfriends stars Tracee Ellis Ross as Joan, Golden Brooks as Maya, Persia White as Lynn, and Reggie Hayes as William. This is the first season without Jill Marie Jones (Toni) as a regular, as she left the cast after season six. Read our review by Pavan here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/girlfri...dvdreview.html Please post any questions or comments about this set. |

Here are some of the songs that CBS Home Entertainment cut from the DVD release and replaced by a generic beat or cut it altogether:
"After The Storm" - Corinne Bailey Rae's song "Seasons Change" was played in the beginning while Joan is running through New Orleans; but later in the episode you can hear the actual song....strange. "Willie He Or Won't He Part III: This Time It's Personal" - At the beginning of the episode, when William and Monica are doing their first dance and then break into a routine....the song "Atomic Dog" by George Clinton is played. "Operation Does She Yield” – Monica’s mother Eleanor (played by Jonelle Allen) was singing “Its My Turn” by Diana Ross twice…but was put on mute on the DVD…so as if she wasn’t singing it. “To Be Determined…Its Been Determined” – In the final scene of the episode, [SPOILER ALERT] – once Joan accepts Aaron’s proposal “At Last” by Etta James is played until the credits come on but its instead replaced [but not really] by the song that’s playing in the background before “At Last” comes on….it just plays the whole scene and they turn the volume up on the song. Here's a YouTube Link to "Operation Does She Yield" - Part 2 (look @ the original clip @ 3:40): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ1co...eature=related |
