Jethro and Jed were giants next to her. It was always funny when Jethro picked her up and through her over his shoulder while she kicked and screamed!

I don't know if Granny was so small I think Jed and Jethro were jusy HUGE.

I think the writters of the Beverlly Hillbillies had a "lift and carry" fetish, Jethro was always lifting Granny and other people got lifted often as well.

Jed(Buddy) was 6 foot 4 and Jethro(Max) was 6 foot 5 so of course they are going to be jiants next to her.

I think I read Irene Ryan was 5'3, but Jed and Jethro were giants.

It's funny I was reading that Cloris Leechman is 5'7 the one who plays Granny in the movie and that was an inch taller than the one who played Elly who was 5'6. I dunno how they mad her look shorter.

Not only was Irene(granny) short but she only weight about 95 pounds.
