Where is Season 6?????

This is an outrage. Here we are, on the second day of Season 5's release, and still there is no word of a Season 6 release. What is up with FOX? Don't they know that 20 fans here on the board are champing at the bit to complete our collection? Talk about shabby!


Actually folks, I'm making this post in complete jest. It's just that I think we all know that a thread on Season 6 (and when it's due to be released) is inevitable and I thought I'd be a bit of a brat and beat everyone to it.

So let the clamouring begin... lol.

But dang gummit! At least ol' nasty Fox isn't gonna rip anyone off! Season 7 will finally come out in 2016 and then you can start clamoring for the complete box set that should've come out (except for the all the negative caterwauling by the proverbial turds in the punch bowl who prevented it) in April 2009.

Nice touch Edster! But even though I know you were jesting by the immediate posting of a Season 6 thread, I think there ARE some issues the regular posters have to consider, which I'll detail below.

But first...
1) Mr. Matt, I'm no math whiz, but under your every-three-year scenario, wouldn't we get Season 7 in 2015? Or are you counting the extra months that seem to be added every time to push it into 2016?!
2) What's done is done, and Fox is releasing them this way. I hope people can agree to disagree and not continue to revisit the individual season vs. boxed set issue. (Kum ba ya, my lord, Kum ba ya!)

Anyway, I think 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment honcho Steve Feldstein's email address is on one of the other threads, and I still have his number, if it's still legit. What do people think is the best way to pitch for Season 6?
(I believe in general it's saying thanks, being respectful, and continually reminding him that we want 6 and 7.)
What say the rest of you, and Kristen, is there any way you can find some positive sales numbers to point out in any emails or calls we make?

Wow, and people say I'm impatient! I knew a thread like this was inevitable, but I honestly never thought we'd see it this soon! I've always said S6 is the season Fox really needs to get right, b/c of "Chuckles." If they were smart (and I know that's a BIG "if"), they'd really use that to their advantage in promoting the show.

As for sales figures, the only thing I can think of is Amazon sales rank. It's currently #28 in Movies & TV, which is pretty good, IMO. Esp. when you consider Fox doesn't seem to have done a thing to promote it! I think it's a sign that people really do still love Mary!

Maybe we can continue to make the "Chuckles" episode the centerpiece of our plan to get Season 6 released!

And I hadn't heard about 2012 being the apocalypse, but I have news for the powers that be...I ain't going anywhere until I have TMTMS Season 6 and Season 7 on DVD!

I know how you feel. It's always a long stretch between seasons. Hopefully MTM Seasons 6 & 7 won't take too long. I'm still waiting on Seasons 6 & 7 of Family Ties to be released.

I suspect we'll get the next 2 seasons rather quickly for we know they have them ready for release (they'd need to in order to have planned the complete set that was aborted a few months ago). We're well aware the show isn't a priority of FOX's but since the work has already been put into the episodes (remastering/restoration, etc.), I don't think they'd sit on it for too long. I'm sure they're eager to get the whole show out so that we'll all finally shut up.

I know there was a long wait after Season 4 was released, but I think that was because they didn't have Seasons 5 - 7 ready for release. Too many shows don't end up having all of their seasons released so I'm betting companies lease the rights seasons at a time; hence the wait sometimes.

With seasons 6 - 7, we know they already have them ready. It's not likely that they were scheduling a complete series release without ensuring that the shows were ready. There's too many things that could affect or delay things. So I think we'll be seeing them before long.

What say any of you?

We can only hope they get Seasons 6 and 7 out quickly...but even though the they're-already-done thing makes sense, they always seem to have an excuse.
If you DO get them out, 20th Century Fox, I promise I will buy them, and I'll even re-buy the full set if you put the blooper reel on that!
