Full Moons, New Moons - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I absolutely LOVE full moons! They are so romantic and although my coworkers and I always joke about how bad customers get during a full moon, I think it's just a coincidence, really. There have been a couple of full moons here this summer and fall that have left me breathless. I especially love them when the sky is clear. Absolutely gorgeous!

I don't know much about moon phases really, but I'd love to learn. I'm not all that into astronomy, but it is a vague interest of mine.

I found out a couple of months ago that there is a performing arts troupe that does a special show every month for in celebration of the New Moon. I really want to go see this, because it looks really cute! Kind of like an all-white Nutcracker performance! (*** When I say "all-white", I don't mean skin color. Everyone in the performance wears white and they ask the audience members to do the same***)

I also found these gorgeous pictures of romantic full moons and some new moons. Had a little harder time trying to find new moon pictures because it kept showing me movie posters for the upcoming "Twilight" film!

I like full moons, too.

The last few days, it has looked great. It makes the sky more interesting.

Astronomy was one of my favorite subjects years ago ('70s) and I am still somewhat interested in it today.

I would love to take an astronomy class just for fun. I doubt I'd do very well if it were graded. I used to love to go to the planetarium for school. I remember when they would turn out the lights and point out stuff, it felt like we were literally floating in space.

The coolest thing ever though was when we were in Australia in 2002. We were in the outback and they have this dinner called "The Sounds of Silence" tour. It's literally eating dinner under the stars while being given an astronomy lesson about the southern hemisphere!

If full moons are really big, like a harvest moon, I'm usually too afraid to go outside and look at it (sky abnormalities phobia). So no, not very romantic at all.

Thanks! I just did a random Google search for them. I was actually hoping I'd find some from the recent full moon we had because it was gorgeous!

I love the Space Needle too! It's a really cool place, even if it's probably the most touristy thing in Washington State! I never get tired of going there!

I like them too, although I don't find them as romantic as I do a good sunset or thunderstorm.

Those Planetarium places are fun. I have been to one but it was many years ago. The Griffith Observatory has one (I think).

I used a 55-300mm lens on my Nikon D40 camera with the telephoto (300mm)
setting and ISO 400 setting.

I have a Sony camera (I forget the specifics of it) and it comes with a telephoto lens so I'm going to try it out and see if it works better.

I meant to say that the lens is a 55-200mm zoom. Sorry about that.
