Default "Cougar Town" Is Terrible!

I watched the premiere and made it about halfway through the second episode before turning this show off in disgust.

It is bleeping terrible.

Is Courteney Cox so desperate to be back on network TV that she agreed to do this steaming pile of crap?

Monica on Friends could be shrill, over-the-top and annoying at times, but that was balanced by the warm and down-to-earth side of her personality. This character is so over the top and so unfunny, this show is painful to watch.

If this show is a hit, then I just don't understand today's TV watchers...at all.

Thanks for the update on the show. Ive seen previews for it, and it just looks weird to me. Sadly, most shows that end up being hits are terrible, IMO. Shows how much TV watchers standards have been lowered.

I wanted to like this show because it was Courteney Cox, but it's so over the top and her character is so creepy and unlikeable. I initially figured I'd give it a few episodes, as most new shows take a while to take shape, but I hated the second episode so much, I couldn't watch it to the end.

If this is what passes for humor these days, I'll stick with my old seventies sitcoms, thank you very much.

Exactly. I never had any intention of watching Cougar Town, anyway. Even reading the premise it sounds horrible.

i watched the premiere but I just couldn't get into the Courtney Cox character - i wouldn't say the show was terrible, but I won't be tuning in again.

I thought the show would be terrible, but I LOVE IT! Modern Family is better, but Cougar Town is still good!

I agree, the premiere wasn't great & the 2nd episode wasn't any better. Don't know how long this show will last...won't be surprised if it's cancelled after several episodes.
