Justin Berfield headlines this new sitcom. He stars as Brock Bennett, who, to the chagrin of his loving, but overprotective mother Debbie [whose given name is Mary Deborah]-played by Faith Ford quits his dead end job as a grocery bagger and lands a job at a public radio station as a host of a 5-day-a-week jazz show. Stories involve Debbie trying to guilt-trip Brock into seeing where she's coming from and Brock trying to tell his mom he loves him but wishing she'd let go, as well as frequent political clashes. Also featuring Mika Boorem as Brock's sister Kate, who is close to Brock, Betsy Randle as Susan Frey, Debbie's best friend who is divorced like Debbie and who like Debbie works in special education, Conchata Ferrell as Beverly Cramer, who runs the station Brock works at and is impressed with him, Sam Anderson as fellow DJ Herb Peters, and several others yet to be named.

Cynthia Stevenson will appear as program manager Wanda Nelson, who often butts heads with Brock and tries to put him in his place, but is, in turn, put in HER place by Beverly.
