Any of you write or read fan fiction?
I like to read fan fiction if it's well-written and I read a really good one a few nights ago. I don't stick around very long with the very poorly written ones! But there are some very talented fanfic writers out there and it's always a pleasure to read a really good fanfic. I am currently writing one of my own, a crossover between Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder. My previous attempts at writing fan fiction haven't really worked out, so I've no idea how far I will get with this one - I'm on the second chapter now. |

I'm currently writing a Three's Company fanfiction that I have posted over at fanfiction.net as well as here on our TC fanfiction board. It's my first serious one that I've written and I'm proud of it in some aspects, but I'm also very critical and hard on myself when it come to my writing. It's my passion so I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to it.
Here's a link to the story if anyone's interested: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=249904 |

When I was 13-16. After that I grew up. I don't grasp the concept of that silly shipping crap either.

Not all of them include shipping. I think fan fiction is a valid writing form. |

I write Facts of Life fanfiction stories that are posted here on the FOL Fanfic board. I also wrote one for The Cosby Show about a gazillion years ago and it is posted on The Cosby Show Fanfic board as well.
I think it is a fun hobby and I enjoy it. I love reading them too. |

I've read bits and pieces, but never a full one. I'm not opposed to reading them though.

Yes, I have written and read fan fiction before. A few years ago I posted some FT fan fiction on SO on the FT fan fiction board, but deleted it because I thought it wasn't allowed due to copyright laws. I think there are only two or so FT fan fictions that are still there.

I've been into it for awhile, kind of in spurts. Reading it is fun, when it's done well. As for writing, I've done it, but I have a terrible history of abandoning stories when I run out of ideas or get backed into a corner. I keep saying I should write some stories for some of my fave sitcoms, but I never seem to come up w/ a really good premise. If I could ever get over that, I def. think it would be fun to get back into it again.

I've written ones for Three's Company. I was planning on writing some for Seinfeld and Everybody loves Raymond but I never got around to it.

I used to write Three's Company fanfiction, but those were some of my worst writings ever! LOL
Now I ship M*A*S*H and I love it. It's therapy for me, and a nice release when I need a break from working on my novel. The M*A*S*H fic I'm currently writing is here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=217793 People who think Fan Fiction is childish or stupid have no imagination

I've written only one on this site, for Three's Company. Someday I'll get around to posting one on Gilligan's Island... depends on when the mood takes me that route.
I've also written a few externally. It's something I do for relaxation, or if a story gets into my head. For aspiring writers (of any age) it's really a wonderful stepping-stone. Some writers have been discovered through their fanfic and been published. (I'm waiting for that to happen to me.) http://www.fanfiction.net/u/613939/Princess_Pat |
