Default Who is your favorite Marx Brother?

I am a fan of old movies. One of my favorite groups of actors in old movies is the Marx Brothers. If you like them too, who is your favorite Marx brother?

Oddly enough, "Animal Crackers" just opened in Chicago; it's a play based on the Marx Brothers film, and they were talking about it on WGN yesterday.

I like Groucho the best, but they were all essential to the success of the act. (Well, maybe not Gummo or Karl, lol!)

Groucho is my favorite! He was absolutely hilarious! I used to love him on "What's My Line?" I think that's the name of the show, anyway. I used to have a hilarious quote by him as my signature...
"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read!"

You Bet Your Life was the game show hosted by Groucho (first on
radio and then on television). My favorite Marx is still the one, the only
Groucho! There's a lot of Groucho in another of my all-time favorite funny
characters: Bugs Bunny. Bugs even swiped one of Groucho's lines ("Of
course y'know this means war!").

Cool

Harpo used to be my favorite as I admired his pantomime and his ability to create such fully developed characters without ever speaking. Last year I had the opportunity to see the play "An Evening With Groucho" starring Frank Ferrante at the Mt. Baker Theater in Bellingham, Washington. Since then I have been a Groucho fan.

I gotta go with Harpo. He was adorable. Harpo was married to only one woman, and the marriage lasted until he died. They adopted 4 kids. Plus I totally enjoyed his "mirror" performance with Lucy.

I'd say Groucho #1, with Harpo a close second. And Chico could be hilarious (Duck Soup anyone).

One time on Whose Line is it Anyway, there was a hilarious skit depicting the Marx Brothers. Ryan Stiles was Harpo, Greg Proops was Groucho and Colin Mochrie was Chico. HILARIOUS!!

Harpo, without doubt Always was my favorite, and he seems to have been a very decent person in real life. As Monika said, he was married to only one woman and it seemed to be a true love match. I've read his autobiography "Harpo Speaks" and it's very interesting.

My sister and I went as the Marx brothers for Halloween one year. She was Groucho and I was Harpo. Very easy costume, just remember to bring your horn!

My personal favorite Groucho quote:

"Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."
