Default H1N1 vaccine

Just out of curiosity..

Anyone here going to get the vaccine?

I do admit, I don't want to get the vaccine since I just don't know what the side effects are and don't know if it would even work.

EDIT: It's not out yet, not sure when it will be available.

That reminds me of an episode of M*A*S*H where there was a flu epidemic and everyone was sick except Hawkeye and Margaret. An experimental vaccine arrived at the 4077th and Hawkeye and Margaret gave each other a shot. The next day a pale and sick looking Hawkeye walks in and says to Margaret "Remember that shot you gave me for the flu? It worked. I've got it."

^ I love that episode!

I don't think I'll get the vaccine either.

lol I love that episode too!

I'm not going to be getting the vaccine. I figure, if I get sick, I don't have any other health problems and I have a strong immune system, so I'm willing to take my chances. I've never had a flu shot, and have only had the flu a few times in my life, so I think everything will be okay. *knocks on wood*

me neither. i have a very stong immune system and its rare for me to get sick. a few years ago when my grandfather was still alive, him and my dad both had the flu at the same time and i was stuck in the house with them picking up their tissues and washing cups, dishes, utensils they ate out of and touching things they touched like the remote control etc. and i never got sick.

Someone told me it's better to just simply get the flu vaccine rather than the H1N1 vaccine. I don't remember why, but I think maybe because the flu vaccine would address both and is more advanced. I would check with a doctor, though, to be sure.

In the '70's, during a Swine Flu outbreak, more people died from the vaccine then from the Swine Flu itself.

I don't recommend the shot.

I'm going to e-mail my doctor and tell him my concerns about the H1N1 vaccine and see what he says as to how I can get my mom to drop the idea.

I just got it today. I figure better be safe than sorry. I admit, I had reservations - but my mom, sister, brother-in-law and nephew all got the shot and are fine. I guess in my case we'll just wait and see.

I got it last week because they were giving it away for free at my school and all the cool kids were doing it. I haven't had a problem.

They were giving them out for free at a high school near my church, so I drove right there after the service. I figured, why not?

Last month, I got the seasonal flu shot (which I skipped last year). And last
week, I got the free H1N1 flu shot (because I am in a high-risk group).

Definitely not! They put all kids of discusting things in those vaccines from discarded aborted fetus cells to formaldehyde not to mention pages of other ingedients that are bad for you. It is designed to weaken your immune system.

Here is a case of one woman who got the shot and is now crippled.
