Exclamation Cleveland Indians Fire Manager Eric Wedge & Entire Coaching Staff!!

http://www.fox8.com/wjw-sports-cleve...,1351410.story

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Indians announced on Wednesday that manager Eric Wedge would not be retained for the 2010 season, Fox 8 News reports.

Wedge guided the Indians to one playoff appearance in seven seasons, and this year the club fell out of contention early and is currently one game out of last place in the AL Central.

The Indians have scheduled a Wednesday afternoon news conference at Progressive Field to announce Wedge's dismissal.

Cleveland's coaching staff -- seven members in all -- has also been informed it will not be retained, but some of the staff could be re-hired by the Indians' next manager.

Wedge and his coaching staff will finish out the season in their current capacities.

Stick with Fox 8 News and FOX8.com for more information on this developing story as it becomes available.

It's just sad that his watch started out with such promise (especially in 2007) ended this way.

Well...not that good when I heard our city's the 2nd poorest again next to Detroit and Ohio has three cities in the top-10 poorest cities.

But I hope the Dolans think of something fast otherwise we'll be having Quarter Beer Nights at Jacobs Field.

^I'm just not a sports fan. Baseball and Football just crush me, basketball is questionable, but if we ever do win a Championship even with Basketball it will be like the Rio Carnival and New Orleans Mardi Gras combined!

But as of now...hockey is my sport since there's no Cleveland team to break my heart (only Columbus) and soccer since I hope for Team U.S.A. to win it all, but IMO The US Soccer Team is like Cleveland, a small market trying to make it big...but always fall short.

Just like things were when they were still the Montreal Expos.

At least when they were the Expo's they were a competitive team. Except maybe the last season or two before they moved. But that's only because management traded away all the star players just to reduce the payroll.

Which is exactly what the Indians are doing now. We had two pitchers win the Cy Young in 2007 and 2008 - and both were traded away.

I'm really sorry Monika, I really am . I can feel and relate with you their too though. Curt Schilling, Bobby Abreu- players that were good that got traded. Abreu for a fruit basket to the Yankees and Schilling was the best player/pitcher on the Phillies for years, and he goes to Arizona where Randy Johnson is, and they win a World Series that year and Curt gets Co-MVP honors with Big Unit. It sucks, even though they did great vs. NY that post-season. It just sucks. Ya I know.
