Exclamation Michael Vick May Be on the Trading Block!?

After seeing Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb(notes) run the team for the past two weeks and the little effect Michael Vick(notes) on the team's offense, there is some speculation floating around that the Eagles may look to trade Vick, according to NFL.com. If he doesn't go during this season, he's likely to get dealt during the coming off-season.

Plenty of teams are already having problems at quarterback and have a little more patience to give to the improving Vick than the Eagles do right now. Plus, Vick's contract jumps to $5 million next season and it's unclear whether the folks in Philly would really want to spend that kind of dough if they've got McNabb and Kolb getting the job done.

I called Oakland when he was still a free agent. Wouldn't surprise me if he went there.

I don't believe this. We just released Garcia, when we picked up Trotter, and we got rid of AJ Feeley. No this is false. McNabb is the starter, Kolb is 2nd string, Vick is 3rd string. Without him, they only have 2 QBs- technically only 1 QB with McNabb being injured.

Plus I think Andy really really likes Vick. He may be our starting QB in the future.

Who would be our 3rd string QB?

Nah it's not happening.

They can pick someone else up. I don't think they want to pay $5 million to a 3rd string QB.

It's not like he's sitting on the bench 100% of the time just because he's a 3rd stringer. They have lined up playing QB for a few plays, and running the ball, whether it be through the wildcat formation or not. i think it's a weapon to have him. i can't see them throwing money at this guy, and then 3 games in "oh nevermind." it just doesn't work like that. you're not going to give a WR a 30 million dollar contract, then cut him lol. and if he's getting so much money, it means he's probably a good player anyway.

No matter how pathetic the Browns are - I hope they aren't stupid enough to pick up Vick. Though it would be ironic - Vick playing in the Dawg Pound territory.

why would you release feeley, release garcia, if you're going to release vick as well? just doesn't make sense as something they would do.

never know though. it's the eagles we're talking about here .

Vick doesn't possess unique skills, aside from his agility. If you can sign a QB that can run fairly well, he can do everything Vick is doing now. No matter what Vick is capable of, $5 million for a 3rd string QB is too much.

he has the whole rest of the season to prove his case. that he's worth 5 mil. even if he isn't, their are a lot of players that are overpaid. eli manning for example. way overpaid.

He's not worth it, nor should he even be allowed to play in the first place, but that's another story. Tim Hightower is the only reason the Eagles weren't playing the Steelers in the Superbowl. The answer to their problem was to replace Brian Dawkins, not find a 3rd string QB.

I'm not really surprised. The media was all over Vick going into the weekend and after Sunday's game there was practically nothing about him. Vick is not what he used to be and who knows if he ever will be again. He hasn't played in over 2 years. The Eagles found out they have a backup QB without all that bagage.

that's why Seattle was one of the teams that wanted him right? He has a big connection their too. Former head coach Jim Mora Jr. of the Falcons is the current Seattle head coach.
