Question Will there be any more future Peanuts cartoons?

Not long after the death of Charles M. Schultz early last year
I heard there were a few Peanuts cartoon specials already produced just waiting to air. In fact the day after his death I remember watching a news report that said that Schultz knew he was dying of cancer and one of the last things he did was help produced a Peanuts special to air sometime in late 2000 that tied up the loose ends like Linus giving up on the Great Pumpkin and Lucy allowing Charlie Brown to finally kick the football. Plus a scene with Charlie Brown dating the little red haired girl.
If this story was correct whatever happened to it? Anybody else heard this?

My cousin says that when Schultz died so did the chance of any new "Peanuts" as he did not
want anyone to continue with the strip after he was gone. Even his own kids.

That I never heard but I can believe it.
Though I do wonder what Schultz would think about plans for a ( dont laugh ) porno edition of Peanuts? Ron Jeremy the porno actor was interviewed on the radio here ( in fact at the station where I work at ) and one of his "future projects" is to do an x-rated Peanuts, in fact he wants to play Schroder.
I can see it right now.."Lets have Sex, Charlie Brown" .

Think I'll pass on that one!!

The wrap-up episode is just a rumor. The family is working on a special that will be released direct-to-video.

It's really sad, though. I think that all of the "Charlie Brown" cartoons were the best animation projects in my eyes. I liked them because, besides Snoopy, it featured real kids with real problems and they really put that good feeling in you. In fact, my all-time favorite "Charlie Brown" movie was SNOOPY COME HOME. I looooved that cartoon because it really focused on Snoopy's past life with a lonely little girl. It was real touching when she was in the hospital and she wrote the note to Snoopy over the song "Do You Remember me?". It makes me cry just by thinking of it. It was really funny when Snoopy and Woodstock got kidnapped by that bad ass girl who sang that "Fundamental Friend Dependability" while giving Snoopy all sorts of hell. But the standout moment of the movie was Snoopy and Lucy boxing, and Snoopy just beating the tar out of Lucy! If you haven't seen it, I recommend you check it out! It's real good.

I loved Peanuts !!! Wish there was a "wrap up" of Peanuts but I 'm sure it was a rumor
that you heard.

One rumor that IS true though is the fact that Schultz didnt allow anyone to help out
Peanuts. He was on some talk show years ago when the host suggested to Schultz some "positive changes" like the gang winning a baseball game, however Schultz pretty much stuck his fingers in his ears and said "..please dont tell me, Only I do Peanuts". He was very portective when it came to Peanuts so I was not surprised when he died- the Peanuts gang died that same day too.

On the opposite end is The Family Circus. Today's cartoons are not only written by Bil Keane but some are written by his son Jeff ( who was the model for "Jeffy" in Family Circus ) so if something should happen to Bil his son would take over. Wonder if the people who draw the other cartoons like Garfield, Cathy, and the others have the same kind of "back up plan".

The "porno" Peanuts thing. Sorry to say but I heard that is a done deal. When Schultz died he left open a loophole in the copyright of Peanuts, not exactly sure what the loophole was as i know nothing about legal issues but whatever it was the porno folks took advantage of it, like they did with the Flintstones.

Besides on should be hardly surprised about this becuase after all over the years many radio stations had discussed/debated if peppermint Patty & Marcie were "child lesbians". Like those Burt & Ernie from Sesame Street stories "..where there were more than just friends ". Even Jim Henson tried to stop that rumor from going around
but it didnt work.
