A-Team star Mr. T has hung up his trademark gold chains for good, after witnessing the horror of Hurricane Katrina.
The actor - real name Laurence Tureaud - famously hung strings of gold around his neck on and off screen. However, he retired the bling in 2005 out of respect for the victims of the natural disaster, which struck America's gulf coast, killing thousands. Mr. T tells the New York Daily News, "As a Christian I said I would never wear my own gold again because of what happened with Hurricane Katrina. It would be a sin against God for me to wear my gold when so many people lost everything. "Sure, it's my trademark, but I am the same person whether I'm wearing the gold or not. My moral values are the same. The gold don't make me, I make the gold." http://www.starpulse.com/news/index....mr_t_to_retir# |

Wonder what it would take for him to ax the mohawk?
(sorry - couldn't resist) ![]() That "bling" stuff looks so stupid anyway. All I can think when I see it is what ******* would spend that kind of cash on an oversized, tacky dollar sign anyway. Not only are they stupid, but also have no taste. |

I love Mr. T... I'm so glad I had good role models on tv, like Mr. T, growing up during the '70s/'80s... I'm not sure the same can be said for kids/teens watching tv now... My favourite cartoons then had moral messages for viewers, which I paid attention to... Check out Mr. T's Be Somebody... or Be Somebody's Fool! on YouTube, to see what a great role he was/is...
