This actually became one of my favorite episodes, mainly because of Jo and Blair's interaction. But, was this supposed to be the equivalent of Blair being in an abusive relationship? I remember the episode of "Golden Girls" where Blanche was dating some man who mistreated her and verbally abused her. So, was did anyone else think Chad had the makings of a potentially violent boyfriend? And, also, why is it when a guy is being mistreated, or controlled by his girlfriend/wife, it's seen as okay? (Chelsea on "Two and a Half Men", anyone?) See, I personally think that NOBODY should mistreat, or control, anyone in a relationship. Like Mrs. Garrett says later in the episode, "Love isn't supposed to make you feel bad....love's supposed to make you feel good." Anyway, I think alot of people - women AND men - who have been mistreated, or abused, by their partner can relate to this episode. Anyone else agree?

he wasn't violent but he was abusive to Blaire mentally and verbally. the way he told her how to dress and how to wear her hair and stuff and the how he left with another woman at that party they went to and she got stuck taking a cab back to the school all by herself, at night no less. basically how she kept obsessing on this guy who mistreated her. he just strung her along and she thought her self esteem didn't matter as long as she stayed with this guy. but she eventually realized she deserved better and left him in the dust. jo was also a big help in making her realize she didn't need him.

I agree that Jo did a wonderful job of helping Blair out during this tough time!

No, Chad wasn't violent. Like others have said, he was more mentally and verbally abusive and was always telling Blair what to wear, to cut her hair, etc.

Watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and I loved it.
Anyway, like everybody else said, Chad's abuse wasn't physical, but mental and emotional. I, too, loved the end and where Mrs. G says 'Love is supposed to make you feel good.' So true. |

I really like this episode. I think we've all become obsessive at one time or the other over a guy or girl and know how unhealthy it can be. Especially if that person isn't good for us, like Chad wasn't for Blair. I also really like how Jo was there for Blair through this very difficult time.
