I think Mother Jefferson actually tops Marie in this category. I would've pulled my hair out if I was stuck with her for a mother-in-law.

Marie Barone. I think Doris Roberts is a genius in a sense that Marie was such a bitch but she makes her so empathetic at times you can't help but love her through all her bitchness.

I actually think Mother Jefferson was scarier than Endora. Then again, Darrin would probably take issue with that.

Mother Jefferson without a doubt. There were some times when she was just a blatant bitch to Louise with no false pretenses to try to cover it up.

Marie could be a bitch, but if I had a daughter-in-law who belittled my son constantly and called him an idiot, then I probably wouldn't be very kind to her myself

What about Fred Flintstone's mother in law? She was never shy about throwing her weight around whenever she came by.

Plus Louise tried to be nice to her and help her out, only to have Mother Jefferson insult her. Weezy just couldn't win!!

I think Mother Jefferson was worse. But I loved her as a character! Very imposing and scary, with a vulnerable side (her sensitivity to George's comments and her need to always be No. 1 in his heart).
