Thumbs down Will Smith Donates $70,000 To a Cult

Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, donated $70,000 to Scientology groups in 2008, according to a tax filing just obtained by this column.

The "Seven Pounds" actor contributed $60,000 to the World Literacy Crusade and $10,000 to ABLE International via his Will Smith Foundation. Each is a Scientology organization. In the past, he's denied being a member of the group.

geez, why don't these actors just throw their money into a pit and set it on fire?

...and they may as well sell their soul to the devil too if they haven't already .

i've never really cared for will smith the celebrity, but after reading this, i don't care for the man anymore. hooking up with tom cruise was one of the worst things he could do. he has lied by denying any assocciation with himself, his wife to scientology. scientalogy, cruise and hollywood has screwed with will's head. and yet clearly, it is will smith himself and the guy, who has lost the plot.

I didn't want to mention any specific charity, but imagine what a group like "Feed the Children" could do with $70K....! There are people out there who really struggle to provide basic necessities for their families, really tragic. A group like that could purchase tens of thousands of food products for them on that kind of money.

obviously the Scientologists feel that it is more important to spread their BS to those that can't read - the "World Literacy Crusade" is a marketing tool intended to get Scientology programs into schools without disclosing its close ties with the Church of Scientology
