How do they get Mr Howell's name wrong?

I was doing a web search for something Gilligan related and noticed Mr. Howell's christian name was spelt Thirston!!
But it wasn't a single time, there quite a few different web sites with it.
I guess seeing it spelled out 98 times (99 if you count the pilot) in the opening credits isn't quite enough for some.

I have seen Mary Ann's name spelled just about every imaginable way. Who know's.

Hopefully they spelled Howell right. He could have been Thirston Howl III.

I've seen that hip hop artist's name spelt Thirstin as well.
I don't know if it's a tribute to Gilligan's Island or not but it definitely doesn't get an "A" for originality.

yeah it is a tribute to Gilligan's Island. Their is no place else that name is from lol. And I kinda like it.
