8 Years later and I still can't watch 9/11 related programming without - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

getting DEPRESSED Afterwards. The history Channel had new updated programs of 9/11 in Manhattan that were never seen before and I watch all 3 ours of it and had trouble sleeping.

I guess I will never be able to watch anything rom that day without feeling depressed no matter if it's 8 or 16 years. For some reason I thought it would be different. But it's not as bad as it was in October of 2001 because in those days I didn't have the internet so I could get my mind off of it.

Until I watched the news on 9/10, Friday was just 9/11 to me. I guess because I don't think about it anymore but watching the news reminded me

Life has to go on, but I think it's important to always be aware of what happened that day, and to never lose sight of the what it meant to all of us and how we felt while it happened. Most people seemed to say it reminded them of their mortality and all the things they really value.

Those are lessons that should be remembered every day, not just on 9/11.

I like watching 9/11 stories about people and not watching the planes crash into the WTC a thousand times over. From what I recall, right after 9/11 happened, people were complaining about the media because they would show that horrible footage over and over again. Last night I was surfing Youtube, looking for 9/11 related videos. However, i wanted to see tributes and so forth and almost every person who posted a video included footage of the planes. Very disturbing to watch.
I haven't the slightest clue how to do this, but for a couple of years now, I've been wanting to make my own 9/11 tribute video. I know the song I want to use and I'm sure I can find 3 1/2 minutes worth of pictures or video, but those planes won't be part of it. I like watching the people's emotions. That's what makes it real for me. Seeing those planes over and over makes me think I am watching a bad action flick.

it was awful seeing those planes crash into the world trade center, and of those people running in fear. i have no wish seeing that footage ever again. it was a terrible event which changed not just america but the world forever. that's not to say we shouldn't remember those who lost their lives but to pay our tributes to them and realise that it's not about going down after losing a battle/war but how one finds the strength to recover from this tragedy and to continue life head on. i think that 8 years on, america has done that tremendously well and you guys should be proud that as people, no matter what your political stance is- be it liberal, republican, you are willing to put that aside and stand shoulder to shoulder with each other in unity, as one nation.
