I don't know if he's still working on A Couple of Dicks in the NY/NJ area so maybe he can't appear anywhere else. I haven't come across any other signing appearances for this.

I called the bookstore the other day to find out what the autograph policy is and they said they didn't know and to call back more closer to the event.

I'm hoping to get my CLERKS DVD signed by Smith since I had Jay Mewes sign it.

Yeah, Mewes has been doing a lot of appearances in recent years.

The event I went to he charged $25.00 per item signed. It sometimes changes depending on the venue but that's what he charged where I went last year.

Yeah, my sister has been going to Screamfest for the past few years(I've never been able to go because I can never get off work, hopefully this year I'll be able to go!). She told me that the people who show up there charge a fee, too, for autographs. When it comes to meeting a "celebrity" though, I rather get a photo with them, than an autograph.

Last time I saw Kevin Smith was ages ago - Vulgarthon 2 in 2002.
Here is a pic.

He didn't sign anything for me then but before that I had ordered a Clerks poster from the website that he signed. I never actually opened it up, it's still in storage.

Most of the time they charge for taking photographs with you as well.

What I have seen sometimes is that they have a photo-op where you pay a certain fee for a professional photo with them and they will sign the photo for you and an additional item for no charge; I've seen these go to around $45.00 for this deal.

I have also seen the standard rate for what they charge for taking photographs (from your camera) and for the most part they charge what their autograph fee is.

What I have seen people do is purchase an autograph with them first and then ask, "May I take a picture with you?" and they will come around to you and their handler will snap it.

Sometimes if you purchase an autograph first and ask for a photo they will take it with you for no charge. If you really just want the photo then you pay the standard fee for just that.

Gotcha. I'll remember that if I go to Screamfest. There are going to be a number of well-known people there - Shannen Doherty, Chris Sarandon, John Landis, Linda Blair, Adrienne Barbeau, etc. Looks like I might have to pony up some serious cash!!

Yeah, conventions are not cheap.

I threw $75.00 at Mewes the last time in seconds (3 autographs).

Actually when I saw you had posted on this thread again, I was hoping that you found out that Kevin was doing a book signing in Fla.(most preferably in the Orlando area!!)
