Default Hallmark editing

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Hallmark has done an awful job of editing down the episodes? The editing is completely different from Lifetime and at first when I saw it on Hallmark I was please because I was seeing some different lines that I never saw on Lifetime, but now I see that Hallmark is leaving out some of the best lines.

For instance, last night was the episode where Rose dated the little person and they were at the kitchen table and Blanche was talking about how she dated someone different sometime. She talked about Benjamin and how he was different. Dorothy said about how it was wonderful that she went to the prom with someone who was black. Blanche's response was "Benjamin wasn't black. He was from New Jersey. I went to my prom with a Yankee." Normally this would be followed by dialogue by Dorothy about how Blanche was a profile in courage for going to the prom with a "Yankee from New Jersey", but the scene just stopped with the line from Blanche that I mentioned above. It was very disappointing to me.

Yeah besides the censoring they do seem to cut quite a lot. I don't remember the edits from Lifetime because I didn't really watch the original run. So I have nothing to compare them to. But since I have the dvd's the edits are dreadful they do indeed leave out the best lines.

I agree!! The editing is HORRIBLE!! I kinda takes the fun out of it for me, I have most of the episodes on tape from when it was shown on Lifetime and those are much better.

Remember the episode where Dorothy and Rose wrote the Miami song. One of the funniest things is where Rose said Miami is nice so I will say it thrice. They completely cut this out. It was latter mentioned when Blanches Dad arrives.

Blanche to Big Daddy: Come sit betwinched (sp) us.
Dorothy: betwinched???
Rose: See another word you don't know. I bet the thrice of us are sitting on the couch.

This makes no sense without the first scene.

It's pretty bad. Yesterday morning one of the funniest lines got chopped and hacked. When Rose brought home the dog from the supermarket and Rose immitated the dog's voice after Dorothy and Blanche storm out of the kitchen, Rose immitates the dog and says something like 'that's ok, I used to live with a couple of b...ches myself" ...Guess HM doesn't like the B word! But it is good to see a LOT of scenes LT cut out, especially the "tail ends" in some of the season 6/7 shows.

I almost never watch sitcoms on television anymore. With all the bugs in corners, side scrolling live action promos, and like being discussed here, choppy editing, they just aren't worth watching anymore. Thank God for DVD.

The editing does get on my nerves and they have cut out some classic and hilarious lines, which does make me mad!

Another chop and hack.....When Rose, Dorothy and Sophia were coaching pee wee football, Rose and Dorothy come down with a bad colds (whatever) so Sophia has to coach the game. They cut out the part where Sophia gives the 68 pound boy a big sandwich. If I could afford it, I'd get all seven seasons and NEVER watch it on Hallmark or WE! Why do they have to cut out so much? Just to squeeze in two more commercials? :[
