Cool My sister and brother-in-law's dog was put down today

Today was a very difficult day. My sister and brother-in-law's dog, Panzer, had to be put down. He was 14 years old and in deteriorating health. This morning he could no longer stand on his back legs and had stopped eating. So my brother-in-law called the vet to come over to the house. He called my sister to come home from work and called me to come over since I have been taking care of Panzer a lot during the last few months while they were both at work during the day. We took Panzer out to the back yard to lie out in the sun. We all said our goodbyes and then the vet ended Panzer's suffering. I know this was the right thing to do for Panzer but that doesn't make it hurt any less. I'll miss you buddy!

I'm sorry for your loss. Dogs bring so much to our lives and ask for so little in return.

I'm very sorry about the loss of your friend, Marv.

I agree; losing a pet is its own type of grief, unique and difficult to put into words. I hope you can comfort yourself with the knowledge that Panzer was given much love and great care, and that his life was rendered much, much richer for your presence.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's hard to lose a dog like that, I can't believe it's almost been 2 months since I lost Snuggles

Awwwh, Marv, that's so sad.
But I'm glad that at least Panzer doesn't have to suffer anymore, and he can now rest in peace with his Creator.

I am very sorry Marv. I hope you are ok. Dogs are cute animals, but they become a part of our families & everyday lives. I am sorry for your family as well.

I'm sorry for your loss it's still hard no matter if it's a pet or family member. My niece had to put down her Lab/collie who was also 14 and blind. She could barely lift her into the truck to take her to the vet She held her while the vet gave the shot. It sucks losing a pet.

Marv, I don't know what else to say that everybody here hasn't already said, but I'm sorry about Panzer, too. It seems you were just as close to him as your sister & brother-in-law was. I've said it before that it's amazing what an impact pets have on us, and they do it in the short amount of time they're given.
