Default quote multiple posts/members

i always have this urge/problem on forums. it's more so, something I want implemented in the system for easier posting. Basically, say you want to answer more then one quote, all at once, instead of going back and clicking the quote & back button a million times, their would be a button near quick reply and quote, for multiple quoting, where you click that for every post you want to quote within the thread. Once you get to the last post by somebody in that thread that you want to quote, you click the quote button and it goes to a screen with everybody's posts you wanted to multiple quote, in quote form. it makes for easier posting, and faster responses. what do you think?

To quote what you said..... (sorry I couldn't resist!)

I think this is a great idea! It would make things so much easier! I hate that, trying to respond to a bunch of different quotes, having to go back and forth, but it's easier than posting multiple times!

Let me see if I understand this correctly. Let's say you have 10 posts in a topic in the sports forum that you want to reply to, Are you saying that you want to be able to quote and reply to all of them on one page at the same time? If that's what I'm reading then I don't see the point of it for 2 reasons.

#1. This site runs slow quite often and it can take well over a minute for some posts to go through so trying to submit several at one time would take much longer. #2. If you were able to submit 10 replies with quotes on one page at the same time the system would probably increase your post count by only 1 instead of 10. If I misunderstood your idea then I apologize.

You got it right.

I can't really respond to # 1. You got me their. It might make things a lot more slower. But I'm wondering if TJ or admins can do something about that though?

@ # 2 yes that is correct. yeah but it isn't a who has the most posts? I'm not trying to sound cocky, but it would make people respond to other people more. Some people I bet, including myself, don't respond to every post, just for that fact, and a lot of people have good points & interesting things to say. I think it would make things run more smoother, but it would make the site run slower as well. I'm wondering what can be done about that though. Thanks Charles.

lol quite alright Andrea. Pretty good/funny though too.

And yeah I agree with you. That's it's main attraction. I hate having to do that as well, on every thread . Just would be convenient, and make the site more smoother, from that perspective of things.

I don't think it's possible with this current version of vBulletin. You'd have to manually use the quote button for each post. You could open a new window for each post and then copy and paste. The multiple quote feature may be available when we upgrade to a newer version.
