Looking back what storylines didn't make much sense to you?

I kind of never got the whole scenerio in Something's Coming where Lynette had to beg Karen to let the family into the basement during a tornado. I mean I know some viewers felt Lynette was imposing, but seemed to me they had a close enough relationship she could expect Karen to come through. They did have a history of give and take where they've always done mutual favors for eachother.

Also did I miss sometime before that episode where it was espablished Karen and Ida were such close friends that protecting Ida's cat would come before protecting one of the Scavos (even if it is Tom)?
