Declining Episode Quality - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Tonight I am watching the Moonlight Madness Party episode and last nighy was the Jeopardy episode. These appear to be from the later seasons. The jokes seem more labored and set up than in the earlier episodes. The sharp witt and timing just aren't there anymore. It may be argued that one is more used to the show's humor at this point, but the reruns I watched last week seemed better scripted and directed than the one's this week. Did the show undergo some change in creative control or writing?

These were from season 7, my least favorite season. It had some episodes that I liked but overall the shows just weren't as wonderful as the other seasons. I'm not sure if by this time it had gone through more staff changes.

I believe in season 5, all the producers were changed, and the main director was replaced in the 6th season.

I have also noticed this! I hardly even watch the episodes anymore after season 5. The jokes aren't very funny. Blanche is just a slut, Dorothy is nothing but sarcastic and mean, Sophia is senile, and Rose is just stupid.
