NBC for the past two seasons is probably kicking themselves; from what I heard, their ratings have gone way down and I think they should feel sorry for cancelling promising shows, such as "Boston Common" and "Stark Raving Mad".
If "Boston Common" was still on today, don't you think it would be giving NBC some good ratings? I do. |

Boston Common was a cute show. I don't know why NBC cancelled BC and Working, which were both great shows, IMHO. Yet, Friends get renewed year after year...
------------------ Kristen Homer Simpson: "It takes two to lie, Marge! One to lie and one to listen!" Antonio (Wings) "Oh, forgive me! I thought we could use a break from your 'All the good men are married or gay' speech!" Robert (Everybody Loves Raymond): "It's always about you, Raymond. Raymond, Raymond, Raymond, everybody loves Raymond!" |

NBC cancelled Boston Common for unnown reasons. The show's final episode, "Sophomore's Choice", ended on a cliffhanger which left several questions unresolved: Will Tasha be fired? Will Joy and Jack get along as coworkers? Will Wyleen admit to Boyd that she really misses him not being around? Will Leonard get to propose to Cookie? Will she accept? We'll never know.

Unfortunately, I never saw this show when it aired on NBC. I used to watch it on USA in '98 when it was part of the USAM lineup or whatever they called it and it quickly became one of my favorite shows. I was mad when I finally saw the last episode. All it did was leave me wondering what could have been. This was a great show and it deserved to be on the air much longer than it was. I don't know why NBC moved the show to Sundays in the second season. That's never really been a great night for sitcoms, at least not in the past 20 years except for a few shows that aired on FOX. I'm sure low ratings were the cause for the cancellation, but NBC should have gave it more of a chance. I mean they aired the show on Sundays, what did they expect? If they left the show alone and continued to air it on Thursdays after Friends, then I believe the show would have lasted for at least a few more years, easily.

I absolutely loved that show and am still mad at NBC for canceling it. I think it could have been as big as 'Friends', if given a chance. But, it is a little bit of consolation that it's cancelation allowed some of the actors to go on to other great shows - Anthony Clark in "Yes, Dear", Vincent Ventresca in "Invisible Man' and Traylor Howard in "Two Men, A Girl and a Pizza Place". Of course, I would trade all of that for one more season of Boston Common. But, I have to look on the bright side...
