Writer Melissa Rosenberg Talks A Bit On New Season
Scripter talks DEXTER’s new season
Tuesday, September 01, 2009 11:33 AM Jessica Leibe Fango recently spoke to NEW MOON scripter Melissa Rosenberg for our coverage of the TWILIGHT sequel (see it in issue #288, on sale in October) and got a few words from her on Showtime’s hit serial-killer series DEXTER, on which she also serves as a writer. Rosenberg reveals that the title character, played by Michael C. Hall, is going to face new challenges in the fourth season, which premieres Sunday, September 27. The show’s previous season ended with Dexter coming to terms with his future as a father, and marrying his girlfriend, Rita Bennett (Julie Benz). But will marriage and a child mean Dexter is going to put his murderous hobby aside and live a simple life? Can a serial killer even have a normal life? “Well, no,” Rosenberg laughs. “The question this season is, ‘Can he have it all?’ He has a child and wife now, but still possesses that dark need to kill. So what are the complications? How do you balance work and family? In this case, how do you balance murder and family? The answer will bear out over the season.” http://fangoria.com/home/news/17-tel...ew-season.html |
