Default Do/did you call non-relatives aunt or uncle?

I know a lot of people who would call close friends of their parents aunt or uncle. I never did. I was just wondering if any of you do or did.

Nope. I don't even call my actual aunts and uncles by the title. My family is just really informal I guess; none of us use the title before the name.

Yes. There is one person. My mother has been friends with her since spring 1981. They have known each other so long that they might as well be sisters. So my brother, sister and I call my mother's friend Jodi Aunt Jodi.

My sister and I still refer to our godmothers (longtime friends of our parents) Aunt Jan and Aunt Nancy. My mom actually said not too long ago we can stop calling them "Aunt". But I've known them as "Aunt" my whole life, and I can't imagine referring to them as anything else.

Yup.. My grandma has a friend who all of us call Aunt Bonnie. They have been friends since my dad was little. Also a man that used to babysit me, all of my cousins and my brother call Uncle Randy.

there's a couple that we know, and we call them aunt and uncle; even though they're just family friends.

I used to call my step father's siblings aunt and uncle. Mainly because I was lead to believe they were my real aunt and uncle.
