This guy was an animal and there was excuse for it. Yes his father ran out on him and his family but that does not excuse his being leader of a gang and being a public menace and shooting someone. I so wanted James to give this thug a good needed ass kicking.

Well I think so since his Father left them and his mother told him -"I no longer have a son" after slapping the sh*t out of him-lol

James was WAITING for the moment to get at Maddog but his mother did it for him, and James felt sorry for the guy even if he did shoot his son. I guess he didn't want to get down after seeing Maddog's mom disown him figuring it would make a bad situation worse.

I did not blame his mother. Here she was trying to raise her family alone and this piece of garbabe was doing nothing but giving her grief instead of helping her.

His momma's tongue lashing didn't diminish my desire to see James open a can on him. I am sure such things had been said to him before by her and I doubt that piece of scum and became a model son and citizen after she left the building. James beat down would have been the perfect encore!

I think we were suppose to feel sorry for the guy. If he returned in another episode he probably would have changed. Seems to go that way in tv land, they like happy endings.

i like happy endings to,he proably would been real sick or something like that n jj helps him out saves his life despite james or family feelings

toward him for shooting j j n proably reunite with his mother

It would have been interesting to see the 'Mad Dog' character appear in other episodes- maybe they could have developed his character or something along the way (even with a few more semi-serious storylines). He had potential to be a rather deep personality imo. Wonder what ever became of that guy?

He worked with Bill Cosby before Good Times in 1972 on the New Bill Cosby show. And later appaeared on What's Happening in 1979

Ok, thanks Solomon! Was his role alot different on What's Happening in 1979 or similar to Mad Dog? I'd be interested in seeing that episode.

Rerun was in this religious cult and Maddog was one of the main leaders of the cult.It would have been perfect if James slapped Maddog and made him cry all over again.
