Default Milly Was Annoying

As much as I like this show I have to admit I always found the Milly character annoying. She come off as such an airhead. How could anyone put up with her.

Her husband Dr. Jerry Helper was annoying in his own way too. They made quite a couple.

I saw Jerry Paris in "Zero Hour" last weekend, and I guess it's a testament to his acting skill that I had to stifle the urge to dislike his character, still associating him with the ironically named "Helper".

I love me some Millie. Her and Mary Tyler Moore provided great comedy together. Too bad more storylines could have been written around them. I liked her and Laura together as friends compared to Mary Richards and Rhoda Morgenstern.

I have to disagree. Thankfully Milly was not on anymore than she was. She was such a dip.

I wish she was on more. She was very funny.

She made the show when DVDS had their reunion. She nailed Millie. Her and MTM had great comedy chemistry together.

I didn't find Millie annoying or a dip but if you did than I think that is a tribute to Ann Morgan Guilbert for creating such a memorable character. She only appeared in 61 of the 158 episodes in this series. So that the fact that all of you not only remember her character but have an opinion about it speaks volumes for her talent as an actress and also the great writing on this series.

I wasn`t crazy about Millie either but she did have at least one memorable moment when she was auditioning to be in some sort of show. She sang a song with some of the lyrics being "and I`ll just kill myself,I`m funny that way" A bit of a hoot I always thought.

C'mon! Millie was a great wingman (wingwoman?) for Laura!!!!
First of all she was loyal, which is an admirable quality in a friend.
Second, she was kooky, and she and Laura got involved in a lot of funny situations because of it.
I think the Mary Richards-Rhoda Morganstern friendship was more memorable, but in thinking about it, it wasn't so far from Millie-Laura!

One thing I will say is that she did kind of play up that sing-songy, whiny voice, which I could see turning off a few people -- but not me. Another vote for Millie NOT being annoying!

Now Jerry...don't get me wrong, I liked his character, too. But HE could be annoying sometimes...like when he would tell Rob that his show stunk, and he just wouldn't let a few things drop when he should have. But, hey, that's real life. Nobody's perfect. He had some funny lines, and I liked him.

I think Millie and Jerry were great neighbors on the whole!
