Gameshow Producer and Creator Don Lipp Has Died

Don Lipp, television gameshow producer and creator died Thursday in Phoenix, Ariz., after a long illness. He was 70.
Lipp created such TV gameshows as ABC's "The Moneymaze" and "One in a Million."

Lipp's longtime partner, Ronnie Greenberg, served as consultant on "The Moneymaze" and together they created ABC's "The Big Showdown" and the syndicated show "On the Money."

Lipp and the late Bob Synes were the creators of "You're in the Picture," which starred Jackie Gleason. He also wrote for films and worked as an advertising agency executive.

The exec attended Rutgers U. and served in the Army during the Korean conflict.

Lipp is survived by his sons Josh and Matt, a director-producer.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the VA National Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz.
