"Alice" Reunion

OK this is one of the forgotten shows.I don't know why!It lasted from 1976 til 1985.It lasted 9 years!Most people remember "Lucy" and that only lasted 6 years.This show was better funnier and more interesting!So I give you "Alice The Reunion.":

The Story:Mel died.In his will he leaves the diner to Tommy,Alice's now 33 year old son.When Alice finds out she books a flight to Pheonix to help her son with the diner.Once there she calls up Flo,Vera,Jolene,Henry,Earl,and Belle.So I present to you "Alice:The Reunion"!"

(Tommy is shuffling through the mail when he sees the inheritance letter)
Tommy(reading it):Thomas Hyatt we inform you that Mr. Melvin Emmery Sharples has passed away.Since we could not have contacted you during the reading of the will we sent you this note.The will stated that Mr.Sharples has left you his Phoenix diner.(to himself)I thought Mel sold the diner(continuing on)Mr. Sharples sold the diner in 1985.He bought the land back as he constantly put it up for rent.Mr. Hyatt you need to be at the Phoenix city hall to claim your inheritance by next week.Signed the Mayor of Pheonix.(to himself)Ohh that's so said.I wish I would have been at the funeral.Mike!
Mike(his roomate):Yeah Toms!
Tommy:I'm gonna be moving out.
Mike(now in room):Why what's the matter?
Tommy:A good friend of mine died and he left me his diner back in Phoemix.I have to be there by next week.Hey can you get my mom's number from the rolladex?
Mike:Sure.But I'm gonna need a new roomate to help pay off the rent.
Tommy:Get Timmy from Marvin's Motel.I heard they are tearing it down soon and he's gonna need a place to live.
Mike:But isn't he you know funny?
Tommy:Maybe if you hadn't passed up that job that payed $10 dollars an hour down at the supermarket you wouldn't be in this rut.
Mike:Yeah?Whatever.
Tommy:Just get the number!
Mike:OK OK!Here!
Tommy:OK let's see I can't beleive I forgot my mom's number!It's 467-9837,Nashville,TN. Get it on the speaker phone.
Mike:Check.
(phone rings,answering machine is heard)
Alice:Hello if you are calling for me Alice Hyatt you don't have the wrong number.But if you called for Robert Goulet that was a one time act!Anyways I ain't home right now.So please please please please leave me a sunshiny message!Right after the chorus of my song "A New Girl in Town"!(SINGS)There's a New Girl in Town and she's looking good!There's a fresh freckled face in the neighborhood!There's a new girl in town she was just passing through but if things work out she might just stay a while!
Tommy:Hiya mom it's me Tommy!Mel died and he left me his restaurant!So please try to book a flight to Phoenix!Oh and call the gang if you can!Remember how to contact me?You should know!
Scene:Alice's High-Priced Penthouse:
Machine:You should know!
Alice:Oh Mel!Oh my god!Oh I wonder how Marie is doing!Well I have to get the gang on the phone right now!(digs in purse)Here they are!First up I'm calling Flo in Cowtown.(dials up number).
Phone Person:Hello Flo's Yellow Rose Farley speaking.
Alice:Can I please talk to Miss Castleberry?
Farley:Yes you may ma'am hold on just one minute.(off phone)Floie!Floie!(pronounced flo e)
Flo:What Farley!?
Farley:Somebody on the phone.
Flo:Oh well give it to me already.
Alice:Flo!?Florence Jean Castleberry?
Flo:Yeah who is this?
Alice:It's Alice!Alice Hyatt!Mel's Diner ring a bell?
Flo:Oh My Lord!Alice!how's it been?
Alice:Great!When I heard you stopped to run a bar I had to check it out!
Flo:How's Toms?
Alice:Oh he is 33 years old!He lives in New York City.
Flo:That's where Vera ought to be.She always did want to become a actress.
Alice:Yeah!The reason why I called was well.....Mel.....died.
Flo:He wha?
Alice:He gave the diner to Tommy.
Flo:He wha?
Alice:So I'm calling you too come with me to Phoenix to help set things up and you know start out things.Maybe become waitresses again.
Flo:Oh Alice I'd love to.But I can't beleive Mel would do this to us.When donkeys fly Alice When donkeys fly.
Alice:Well with all the technooly today they might do that!
Flo:Well yeah I'd be glad to go with you!
Alice:Great.Now I have to call Vera,Earl,Henry,Belle and Jolene.
Flo:Belle and Jolene?
Alice:They replaced you.
Flo:Oh go figuire.
Alice:No competition!
Flo:Thanks.It was extremly nice of you to call!I'll be there by next week Thurday OK?
Alice:Oh I for got to get the day to be there.
Flo:Oh well I'll be there on Monday!
Alice:OK!
(they hang up)
Alice:OK now Vera.(dials)
Mitch:Hello!
Alice:Oh excuse me I'm looing for Vera Novack I must have the wrong number.
Mitch:No she's my mother!(off phone)MOM!
Vera:Yeah what you need hun?
Mitch:Some broad.
Vera:Mitch you know I don't like you to call women that!We shall overcome!
Mitch:Alright already!Just get the phone!
Vera:Just give it to me!(chuckles)Hello.
Alice:Vera who was that?
Vera:Oh Alice that was just my son.What do you want some sugar?(realizes who she's talking to)ALICE!Oh ma god!Is this real?
Alice:Let me see if I got this right....Farer.(For real)
Vera:I don't know.I'll have to look it up......So why are you calling after all of these years?Oh by the way that was the son I was pregnant with.
Alice:Oh he sounds mischevious.I got to break some bad news to you.Mel died.
Vera:Oh my.When did he pass?
Alice:I think last week maybe.Anyway Flo,Tommy and I are going down to re-open the diner.He left it to Tommy.
Vera:Oh that's great!I'll be packing as soon as you get off of the phone!
Alice:Great bye!I'll see you then!
Vera:Yeah see ya!
(hangs up)
Alice:OK I have to call the others after work.Got to record a new song today.
