JUPITER, Fla., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- The Burt Reynolds Museum in Jupiter, Fla., may be closed or relocated within a year, town officials said.

The Palm Beach Post reported the First Union Bank building in which the museum is housed will be demolished, and it is not yet known whether the museum will be a part of Harbourside, a 10-acre, $110 million complex, featuring a restaurant, hotel and marina to be built on the site.

A 2,500 square foot section of the complex is set aside for non-profit agencies, and up to $350,000 per year of tax dollars will fund the complex's development, the newspaper said Friday.

Burt Reynolds, the town, and the developer, Allied Capital & Development based in Palm Beach Gardens, have discussed the possibility of moving the museum into Harbourside, the newspaper said.

"It is up to the town council to decide who moves into the non-profit space," said Nick Mastroianni, the developer's manager. He added that the museum needs more to offer to be a contender for the space. "Make it a theater. Have shows. Expand the acting school," said Mastroianni.

Exactly, that makes three of us! I think that's why it may be closing, because nobody but probably Burt Reynolds knew about it.
