Default Gearing up for the release of Season 1 on dvd!!

I'm so excited for the first season's release on dvd. Can't wait to pick up this set. Hopefully, by next year, the complete series will be on dvd.

Just a little over a month to go.

In case anyone missed it, over at the Shout Factory website they said that the only extra included in the set will be the interview with the cast members. The original pilot will not be included with the first season.

Yeah, I read that over there too. Apparently, it is because of copyright issues or something. I don't understand how that is possible. If they can license the show from MGM, what is the difference with the pilot? Is it owned by another company? It was disappointing to hear. This would be the only chance of seeing it released officially. Unless time constraints kept it from being included on the first set. It would be great to see it pop up on the 2nd or 3rd set. I have a feeling maybe the quality wasn't up to par.

We'll have two more chances for the original pilot to be released, assuming that the second and third seasons get released. You'd think that something could be worked out before then. As for who owns the rights to the pilot, when do they think they'll ever get something for it if not now?

Again copyright issues, always cheating the fans.

That said I still want this, so I gotta save up for this. I will be like the old days of Nick at Nite.

Although I have a bunch of them on VHS somewhere, I would love to see all of the Nick at Nite commercials for The Patty Duke Show included in the season two or three set.

Too bad about the pilot at least we get an interview. It's better than
nothing. Next month will be all about Cathy & Patty. I've promoted this
release at another forum. A member there said they got their money ready for
Patty.

I got one better I would love to see the original commercials from ABC when this show first aired in the 60's.

Me too!!!
I hope they spoil us silly in the next season release.
Plus I would love to see an interview on a future release with the girl
who played the back of Cathy/Patty's head. She was an
important uncredited cast member too.

Good point about Patty's "stunt double." I've always wondered how she and Patty got along during the filming of the show.

It would also be neat to see some footage of the double before the split screen effect was added. Wouldn't she have to say all of the same Patty/Cathy lines that Patty Duke had to?
