I caught some of a Demond Wilson radio interview yesterday and after hearing it, I want to read this book.

I'd love to read it myself. There might be tidbits about my man in there.

it will be an interesting book esp since almost everyone who worked with him in the past seem to have nothing good to say about him so his take on the issues will be interesting

I love read that Foxx and Wilson were both cokeheads, and that Redd would often have a coke spoon on his person for use between takes. Demond's problems with cocaine have been documented and well known, but he has seemed to have recovered from this and became a minister. It would be cool to see him more on television.

A lot of those performers came with Redd Foxx, LaWanda Page, the guy that played Bubba, Slappy White, some others were part of the "chitlin circuit" playing mostly black venues in the 40's and 50's.

Why did Gregory Sierra leave? He never seems to be in a series for long. what happened to the goat? Did they BBQ it? Was Pat Morita a drunk then? What happened to Rollo?

Gregory Sierra left S&S to join the cast of Barney Miller, but I personally have no idea whatever happened to Chico the goat. I HOPE he wasn't BBQ'ed.

In the British music magazine Mojo, about six or seven years ago there was a great article on Sly & the Familly Stone. In it it was mentioned that one night Sly was partying with some friends and doing coke, and along comes Redd Foxx. Apperently Foxx snorted all of what they had and they called him "hose nose"

I thought it was an interesting story.

Redd Foxx was also a guest on the Brady Bunch Variety Hour - his cocaine use (as well as Maureen McCormick's) was well-documented in the new book Love to Love You Bradys. What a shame. All that money Redd wasted on coke he could've paid to the IRS and he wouldn't have been in such dire straits towards the end of his life.
