Lol Packers LB Nick Barnett "Hell Yeah I'd Like To Hit Brett Favre"

LINK

Returning to the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings will put Brett Favre in direct competition with his former Green Bay Packers teammates.

A prospect some of the current Packers relish.

Green Bay linebacker Nick Barnett said today's he's thrilled to have a chance to finally be able to put contact on the quarterback he practiced with for five years.

"Would I like to hit him?" Barnett told reporters today "Hell yeah I'd like to hit him. All these damn practices out here and they didn't let us hit him.

Looking into the TV camera, Barnett added, "I want to get a nice little shot on you, Brett.

"I said it. Put it on the bulletin board."

Packers receiver Donald Driver, who played nine seasons with Favre, downplayed the impact Favre will make.

"I don't think it's going to change who's going to be on top of the division. That's our goal -- to be on top of the (NFC) North."

Hat tip: ESPN

.....Personally, I don't mind Barnett's comments, firing up the team. But Driver is putting pressure on himself and his team to succeed. I think the Packers aren't horrible, but suck in comparison to the Bears & Vikings, and they will probably be behind both teams in the standings after this upcoming season. At least they will be behind Minnesota, for sure. He is talking out his a$$ for once.

I respectfully disagree. Green Bay will finish ahead of the Vikes this year. As I said in a previous post, Brett Farve IMO won't have much of an impact in Minnesota - by mid-year they'll be depending on Adrian Peterson a lot more as far as scoring is concerned.

That's what I was thinking/said lol.

They don't have a bad team per say, but they finished behind the Vikings last year lol, and by 4 games. I don't get it. I guess they are trying to pump each other up for a better outcome this season.

For my football fantasy sake, I hope they do that cause I picked Adrian as my RB.

Even if Favre doesn't put up Pro Bowl numbers, he's way better then any of the QBs Minnesota has had throughout the past 3 years. That's enough to give them a boost. They jumped up as far as the numbers go, when it comes to favorites making it to & winning the Superbowl this season.

I'm not buying into the Vikings.

I think Favre will produce more harm than help.

IMHO, the Super Bowl representative from the NFC will only come out of the NFC South or NFC East.

Farve doesn't even have to do much. All he has to do is protect the ball. The Vikings made the playoffs last year with awful QB play.

Exactly. That is what I'm thinking. He will throw a few TD passes while he's their too , unless Jackson & Rosenfels. ESPN prediction 21 TDs and I think somewhere around 17/18 INTs, which is about right. If he puts up those numbers, and around 3400/3500 passing yards per game, he and the Vikings are more then good/set.
