Movie Four Lucky Fans Got the Chance To See "Buried" Buried Alive!

RYAN REYNOLDS BURIED ALIVE

This isn't a horror film, but no other sites are covering it for some reason, so without further adieu, the first stills from the Ryan Reynolds (Amityville Horror) starrer BURIED.

Paul is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it's a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.

I'm not the biggest Ryan Reynolds fan, but I'll give him credit - he does keep busy.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this one too. Glad to see Reynolds take on some more serious productions.

Ryan Reynolds is Buried in New Photos
Source: Shock Till You Drop
December 10, 2009

Today's blast of photos continues with a batch we've received for the thriller Buried.

Ryan Reynolds plays Paul Paul, a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it's a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap. Ivana Mino co-stars and Anne Lockhart lends her vocal talents as a 911 operator.

Spain's Rodrigo Cortés directors; you'll see him in a few pics, too.

News fresh out of Sundance...

Variety reports Lionsgate has struck up a deal for the rights to Buried. The film is Rodrigo Cortés' thriller which stars Ryan Reynolds as a private contractor in Iraq who is buried alive.

Chris Sparling's script details the Reynold's limited time in a box before his air runs out.

No word yet on when Lionsgate is going to roll out Buried.

Lionsgate Takes You Six Feet Under This September with Buried
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

Lionsgate is moving fast with their thriller Buried, which will take viewers with Ryan Reynolds to one of the worst places I can possibly imagine -- six feet under.

Having its world premiere this past January at the Sundance Film Festival, Rodrigo Cortes' flick follows Reynolds as a U.S. contractor working in Iraq who awakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin.

With only a lighter and a cell phone it's a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.

Lionsgate has locked down a September 24, 2010 date, so start planning your escape now.

Lionsgate's Buried Teaser Poster
Source: First Showing
April 27, 2010

The teaser poster for Lionsgate's Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds, has made its debut.

Opening in limited theaters on Sept. 24 before expanding wide on Oct. 8, the Rodrigo Cortes-directed film is about Paul Conroy (Reynolds), truck driver and family man, who wakes up buried alive in an old wooden coffin.

Not knowing who might have put him there or why, his only chance to escape from this nightmare is a mysterious cell phone. Poor reception, low battery and lack of oxygen are his worst enemies in a race against time: Paul has only 90 minutes to be rescued.

Experience Buried With New Motion Poster
Wednesday, May 19, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

Lionsgate continues the trend of motion posters with a dark and claustrophobic look at Rodrigo Cortes' Buried, which stars Ryan Reynolds as a U.S. contractor working in Iraq awakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin.

Buried will be opening in select theaters September 24th and nationwide October 8, 2010.

OMFG of the Day: Four Fans Buried Alive to Be the First to See Buried!
Monday, September 20, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

In an early promotion for the Fantastic Fest screening September 23, and the theatrical release on the 24th, Lionsgate and Fantastic Fest teamed for one helluva crazy Buried promotion that I couldn't complete in a million years.

Four lucky(?) participants were selected to be sealed and buried in custom built coffins to watch the entire film that stars Ryan Reynolds as a U.S. contractor working in Iraq awakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin.

The Alamo Drafthouse & Fantastic Fest launched the most ambitious movie-viewing stunt of all time for "Buried with BURIED" in celebration of the gala screening of BURIED at Fantastic Fest on Thursday, September 23.

Four participants were selected to be sealed and buried in custom built coffins to watch the entire film. After signing waivers, the participants were blindfolded and had burlap sacks placed over their heads.

They were driven in silence to a location 30 minutes outside of Austin. Only after they had been placed inside their coffins were they allowed to remove the blindfolds.

Inside the custom-built coffins they watched BURIED on LCD monitors fixed to the coffin lid. Each of them made it through (relatively) unscathed and will get to meet Ryan Reynolds at the gala event for surviving the experience.
