Beaver Sequels

This is regarding the new Leave it to Beaver
TV show and movie:

Why didn't you hear much about them as
compared to the original series?

The producers made one mistake. Leave it
to Beaver was about growing up in the 50's.
All boys at the time were a lot like that
kid.It doesn't work that well when you take
Beaver out of the 50's or early 60's.the
story should have taken place in the 50's.

the producers of "Happy Days" kept that gang
in the 50's and never thought about putting
them in our age or the time in which the
show was actually filmed. The 70's I think.

Come to think of it, what if the new Star
Trek took place at the time of Kirk and
spock of the original series with only
a different ship and captain? Is this a
good idea?
