I am watching the show Rhoda for the first time through dvd.
Was Carlton The Doorman mentally slow or just so drunk all the time that he seemed slow? |

Yeah, I think the other characters made reference to his drinking several times. Carlton was just constantly inebriated.

Yeah, it's definitely b/c of the alcohol. He's sort of like Reverend Jim on Taxi, only Jim did drugs rather than alcohol. But the effects are more or less similar. LOL
