Question What was this sitcom about?

This is an oldie, and apparently one of the more obscure sitcoms. What was it about, and how many episodes were there?

PRIVATE SECRETARY(Later shown in reruns as SUSIE) ran on CBS from 1953-57. There were 104 episodes in all. It starred the lovely and talented comedienne Ann Sothern in the central role of Susie MacNamara. Susie was secretary to successful theatrical agent Peter Sands(played by Don Porter). Much of the action of the series centered on Susie getting herself or someone else out of scrapes. It was actually a very amusing comedy series. I remember staying up very late when I was a kid and watching it on Nick at Nite. That's how I came to be such a huge fan of the great star Ann Sothern, who unfortunately passed away last March. I wish Nick at Nite or TV Land would run it again. I think you'd like it, as I'm sure many others would. It would also be nice if they'd rerun THE ANN SOTHERN SHOW, Miss Sothern's other sitcom that Nick at Nite ran alternately with SUSIE. These are both wonderful shows and I think two of the best from TV's Golden Era.

Question Private Secretary should be shown!!

Hi
Private Secretary was a wonderful '50s sitcom with AnnSothern as Susie MacNamara, Don Porter as her boss Mr. Sands and the wonderful, Ann Tyrell as the receptionist friend of Susies, Violet
Praskins....Susie was in love with Mr. Sands , and he only appreciated her as his Private Secretary... most of the time..
was innocent fun... gave us much pleasure during its run.. Ann Sothern was a beautiful woman.. and a very good actress in film as well... remember " A Letter To 3 Wives"?/ of course her musicals such as "Panama Hattie " were very popular, and The
film "Maisie" series which was almosta foreunner of Private Secretary filmed in late 30's early 40's...Please cable re-air this
wonderful sitcom.. deserves to be seen..

Sorry to tell you, you are wrong. We want The Cosby Show after all it is the highest rated show on N@N even beating Cheers and All in the Family. Why would anyone want to watch Susie I never even heard of it till I came the the 1950's post.

No one should want to watch this show because you've never heard of it? That's about the most shallow thing I've ever seen posted.

I saw it on Nick at Nite back in 1987 also. Very dated but good comedy.

Wink Typewriter

Well, yes, there was a time when type writers could be seen in the office. Lou Grant, the show about a newsroom, had the typewriters bashing away in the newsroom all the time. That show was in, what?, the late 70's, early 80's?
I've never heard of this show but I like the picture at the top of the page. It would be fun to get a chance someday to see what it was about.
