Post Our Miss Brooks is a classic

I am in my early 20's and I love this show. I have the radio, television, movie and I think that this show would be great today. If it was marketed like "I Love Lucy" was, then the show would have been popular today. I think it's still a winner. What do you think?

Default Richard Crenna

I loved the show. Richard Crenna was hilarious. I didn't see much more of his comedic talent until the movie Summer Rental with John Candy. Just about everything he did since Our Miss Brooks and The Real McCoys has been drama.
Personally I wish they would just have a 50's station.
I wouldn't mind a station for each decade. There are plenty of us around that would love to see SOME of the old shows.

Exclamation Our Miss Brooks is awesome!

I think Our Miss Brooks is my favourite tv show. I love it. I got old recordings of the radio version from my library. I did a four page report on it. Miss Brooks lost out to I Love Lucy. Too bad. I think Miss Brooks is a lot funnier than I Love Lucy!

I definitely agree. They are missing their chance. Too many of the old sitcoms are goin' a wastin'.
Not only Our Miss Brooks but The Life of Riley and My Little Margie
etc.

Cool

I've never seen any of the T.V. episodes but I'd love to. I've heard many of the Radio episodes and they are hilarious. Eve Arden is an incredibly talented commedienne and had an excellent supporting cast including Gale Gorden and Richard Crenna. Hopefully someone will recognize this show for the gem that it is and put it back on T.V.!

It would be great if TVLand would do something similar to what Game Show Network does with Black and White Overnight. They put on old b&w shows like I've Got A Secret and What's My line in sets of 4 I believe. TVLand could put on "Our Miss Brooks", "My Little Margie", "Life of Riley' and "Topper". TVLand could use a little variation these days.

I don't agree that OMB is funnier than I Love Lucy, but it was a good show with good writing and some funny characters. And it was produced for television by Lucy and Desi's Desilu Productions! Years later, Eve Arden came back to television in a show produced by Desi Arnaz called The Mothers- In-Law in which she was doing Lucille Ball schtick, basically trying to be Lucille Ball. I would like to see OMB again.

Default OMB videos

Anyone have any idea where to get OMB videos? Not only has the show disappeared, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere on video. I'd do a lot to have a few copies. Wonderful memories.
