I know this has been asked before, but I didn't feel like finding the old thread - in a show that is so classic and timeless, what are the few episodes that don't stand up to the rest?
Here are the ones I don't like: "The Adagio" "Ricky's Old Girlfriend" "Lucy Goes to a Rodeo" "Lucy Goes to Scotland" |

I absolutely hate Lucy Goes To Scotland! Right now that is the episode that sticks out the most and I can't think of any other episode that I won't watch, however though I like the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour with Ernie Kovacs, I find it difficult to watch because Lucy and Desi had already filed for divorce when they taped that show and that is all I can think about while watching it.

Sounds hokey, but I can't think of an episode I won't watch. Even if I don't like a particular episode for the story line, there is always a reason I will watch it, wether it's for Lucy's wardrobe or watching how she keeps house or noticing props or things like that. I am generally just fascinated by life in the fifties so pretty much love all of the episodes for one reason or another.

It's hard to say; I don't ever think I've seen one I could say I DISLIKED. But there are some I just love love love. So it'd have to be relative I suppose.

There really isn't an episode that I can name ... I use to not care for "Scotland," but I saw the colorized episode on Youtube and enjoyed it in color! Just because I enjoyed it doesn't mean I find it to be Lucy's "Sgt. Pepper!" I really don't care for the Japan episode, or even the "Black Wig" episode. But still, too few to mention and I can find something enjoyable in every episode.

An episode I recently saw from Season Two didn't stick out for me at all. It was "The Operetta" in which the episode is pretty much a staged musical of "The Pleasant Peasant".
I don't know, I just didn't care for this one. I didn't care for the singing and dancing here that was "supposed" to be bad; it wasn't funny. The last part I would say was funny where the equipment is being re-possessed during the show but as a whole this is not one of my favorite Lucy eps. |

To me, it seems like every episode has something I find interesting-- dialog, costumes, schemes, tone, et al... and not always because it's good, but sometimes the opposite. For that reason, there just aren't any eps that I just won't watch. So many are detractors of the Scotland ep, for example; but the costuming, the simple rhyming of traditional music with injected anachronisms, the dance team, the plot that is really quite stupid (even though a dream)... all that makes it unique, so I still find it interesting, no matter how silly.
I don't enjoy the first season as well as the others because the schemes are so outlandish and would be far too costly to actually carry out-- making the living room like a Cuban village with a burro, or a junk pile with chickens and eggs, a hillbilly shack in Manhattan, or going back to turn of the (20th) century-- how much more than the $50 Lucy would win with the bet did she spend on all that stuff to get it into the apartment? But after the 4 characters got adjusted they seemed to realize they had such great character comedy that they didn't need such wild plots in the mold of big screen comedy shorts. |

Lucy Cries Wolf is one of my favorites. Bart Braverman play the italian boy in the Italy episode. He later starred on Vegas with Robert Urich. He went by Bart Bradley in the I Love Lucy. That episode did tired me out with the stair climbing. The Operetta is another one I liked. MY song says Lucy when the gals sing. The only 2 that I can truely say I don't like are Lucy goes to Scotland and Bonus Bucks. I felt in Bonus Bucks Ethel should have kept all the money.

For me, I find "Drafted" to be dull and the Scotland one isn't up to par. |
