My favorite part:

For a time, he donated one night per week to taking calls on a suicide hot line. The callers never knew his identity but occasionally, one of them would be pouring out a story — "my wife left me, I'm broke, I have an incurable disease," etc. — and would suddenly blurt out, "Hey, you know you sound like that cat on TV?"

And here’s where the day of heroes continued. The panelists paid tribute to one of the greatest vocal actors ever, the late, great Lorenzo Music. That name might not stand out to you, but if you’re over, say, 35, he made an impact on your life somehow. (Here’s one that oughtta ring a bell: “Hello, this is Carlton your doorman.”) And if that didn’t work, try these: He was the voice of Peter Venkman on the cartoon The Real Ghostbusters and Larry the Crash Test Dummy in those seatbelt public service announcements from the ’80s. And perhaps most famously, he was the voice of Garfield. And it’s here where his heroism comes in. Lorenzo volunteered for a suicide hotline once a week and whenever he could—or whenever someone noticed he sounded an awful lot like that cat on TV—he would talk them down and make them laugh using his Garfield voice.

Wow! Imagine calling the suicide hotline and talking to the voice of Garfield! But it's great that Mr. Music volunteered his time for such a worthy cause.

I loved him as Garfield!

Towards the end of his life, Lorenzo also was the voice of the radio ads for Ruggles Ice Cream, a local brand here in northeast Ohio. He would extol the virtues of the ice cream to the tunes of Jingle Bells, Take Me Out to the Ballgame, etc.

But...he wrote "Coming Home to Emily", the theme to "The Bob Newhart Show".

Yes, he did - he and his wife wrote the song.
