I guess freedom of speech and expression doesn't apply to Christians. Meanwhile, rapists, murderers, and other criminals roam the streets.

I'd expect to hear this story happening in the Middle East, but not here. I am officially disgusted. Those liberals are such hypocrites. They talk about tolerance and equality as long as you're not Christian. They are no better than the Taliban.

It seems to me there is a significant difference between praying (what these men did) and promoting prayer (what they're being accused of). It's seems unbelievable to me that we are sending soldiers to places like Iraq and Afghanistan to give those people more freedoms and meanwhile our freedoms are being taken away from us!!!!

exactly. to criticize "those liberals" for being hypocrites is, well, hypocritical. hypocrisy comes from your personality (even if it's just a habit or honest mistake), not from what your political beliefs are, give me a break. but people find it more convenient to have a wider target of blame.

i knew that headline was out of context when i saw it. they're in trouble for violating a court agreement not to LEAD prayers at school, it's not "for praying." not that i get butthurt every time someone talks to their food, but if you say you're going to do something, do it. boy does it pay to read full articles instead of just the ~*shocking*~ and out-of-context headlines that the journalists throw out there for attention whoring purposes.

Unfortunately, it's not always up to you. Rules are implemented and such, and not even you can pray in certain places, not out loud anyway.

This here isn't an issue of whether or not the rule is unjust (and, IMO, it is), but about the fact that two people broke a rule that they were obviously aware of. You break a rule, you get punished for it, no matter how ridiculous the rule is. Contrary to popular belief, the best way to change a rule or law is not to...you know...actually break that rule or law.
