Default MrIggles, I know you are mad at the Eagles But I really think you should be mad at...

TONY DUNGY-LOL Remember he was the one who reached out to him when he came out of prison and served as his mentor and was contacting teams in the NFL like the Eagles. And since Dungy is respected as a classy individual all around the league, the Eagles decided to give him a chance because of DUNGY"s input and feedback from talking to him since he been out of prison. So it wasn't like the Eagles had their eye on him the day he got out of prison, it was Dungy's support that played a factor into him getting a second chance. That's why he was at the press conference. So Dungy is the man you should be furious with, not the Eagles-lol

All I know is that I'm glad it's the Eagles and not the Cowboys. The media is going to be all over them this year and it's going to be a distraction. I am a little surprised because the Eagles made it to the NFC Championship game without Vick last year and I'd be surprised if he's in for any more than 4 or 5 plays a game. They even signed him without seeing him practice to even know what kind of shape he's in. Nobody knows if he'll be the same player as he was 2 years ago.

Well he may turn into a different [player after watching Mcnabb. The one thing Vick never understood as a QB was that you don';t have to RUN when you are face with defensive pressure, just buy time in the pocket so a receiver can get open. His problem was always running straight down the field instead of being patience and waiting for the open man.

Yea his biggest weapon was his feet. He wasn't much of a QB but when he took off running he could be dangerous. The only problem was, he was not a RB. He was pretty exciting the first few years he was in the league. The last couple years in Atlanta he just seemed to get worse. Atlanta was just a .500 ball club by the time he left. I remember the fans were getting on him and he gave them the finger. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Philly fans get on him.

Atlanta was 11-5 and went to the NFC Championship Game with Vick, and head coach Jim Mora at the time, when he left/the last season Vick played before beginning to serve time. What are you talking about- lol? Vick & Mora Jr. were 26-22 the 3 years he was the head coach of the Falcons. Now's he with Seattle obviously, so the talks of Vick to Seattle were getting heated, before the Eagles eventually signed him.

That wasn't Vick's last season although it was the last time he played all that great. The Falcons were 8-8 in 2005 and 7-9 in 2006. Both times they missed the playoffs. I remember when all the Atlanta fans got on him and he gave them the finger. It was a big news story at the time.

Here are the team's record with Vick as QB.

2001- 7-9 ( Vick wasn't a full time starter until November)
2002- 9-6-1 ( made playoffs and lost to Philly)
2003- 5-11 ) Vick was out most of the year with an injury)
2004- (11-5) Vick's best year and Mora's 1st year ( Lost to Philly in NFC Championship Game)
2005- 8-8 ( didn't make playoffs)
2006- 7-9 ( didn't make playoffs)

Did Vick ever play against the Cowboys during those six seasons when he was in the ATL?

My bad Sonny, you are right. I was thinking the last time he made the playoffs, that he went to the NFC Championship game with the Falcons vs. the Eagles, and for some reason I linked that, as being his last season in the NFL lol.

Sonny, also, wasn't it Michael Vick that got caught with the marijuana in the container of his pocket, at the airport?

I'm pretty sure it was. They said it was a thick, green substance. Basically, it was marijuana lol. I forgot about that, and I wonder if anybody else remembers that. Yeah I remember him flipping the fan off. Real classy Mike.

Yea I forget if he got caught with something or if it was empty but it was very suspicious. He just better not flip off the Philly fans.

He better not lol. I don't think he will, but if he surprisingly does, I will say "Screw you Mike. We gave you another chance. Be thankful." lol

Solomon, it was Donovan McNabb that wanted Vick. Jeffrey Lurie didn't want him. Joe Banner didn't want him. Andy Reid didn't want him. It was McNabb and Dungy who had faith in him.

From what I'm hearing on the sports shows around here ,Vick might line up as a RB or WR.
