Anybody ever encounter a store with leechy employees? I was at Best Buy today and I had 5 people ask me if I needed help. I was there maybe 15 minutes. I don't mind being asked once, expecially if I look like I'm lost. But after that, leave me alone please!

What are your feelings on this?

I've had that happen to me. Of course, when i actually do need assistance, I have a hard time finding someone. I also notice men are a lot more likely then women to ask me if I need help.

On a related topic, have you ever been asked if you work in a particular store? I've had that happen on several occasions.

I'd rather have too many people ask me to help than have the employees completely ignore me. Then again, that's just my opinion.

i hate being approached in any store whatsoever - i'm not standing around looking lost, i know what i want and exactly where it should be and anyone that gets in my way is just wasting my time.

...and i frequently get asked for help by other customers in many different stores for no apparent reason.

Same here. Whenever I do need assistance, the employees are so hard to find! I've never had a problem with leechy employees. Funny you mention Best Buy though, because every time I go there...they're all too busy to even ask. It's so frustrating.

I've been asked if I worked at Target a couple of times. I think it's because I was wearing a red shirt.

No, I've never had that happen. Guess I don't look like I know anything.

And yeah, all five who hovered over me today were guys, one of whom had more jewelry on his head than I did. eep

I was in the grocery store last week and I had just come from work, so I still had my uniform on. This old man walks up to me as I'm quickly running through the store grabbing a few things I need and trying to get out, he asks me if we're out of Skim Milk. I was like, "Um, I don't work here, sorry." The funny thing is, my uniform is an orange shirt and black pants, they wear blue vests and blue jeans!

This must be a mid-western Best Buy thing, because I've had the same problem quite a few times while there. Its nice when a store has employees around to help the customer, but Best Buy seems to be taking it to extremes. Its like every couple of minutes an employee comes up to ask if you need help. After five or six of them ask if you need help finding something, it really becomes quite uncomfortable.

There were like 8 of them out on the floor and they all looked bored. So, don't watch me shop! I can't stand that.

The store employees are just there to help you. You should learn
to just mellow out

At Best Buy they go a little too far. As a customer I don't need five employees in a span of five minutes coming up to ask me if I need help.
