I love that book. But it's only good if you're a fan of one of the shows that was on Nick at Nite in 1996. But the episode guides are entertaining.

I actually got that book myself around the time it came out (I still have it on my bookshelf, BTW). It's amazing how Nick At Nite's schedule was so much better in the spring of 1996, because right now, it's nowhere near as good as it was back then.

If I can find it, I'll let you know. Though it may be put away.

The book contains episode guides to the following shows on Nick At Nite at that time:

Bewitched (B&W era only)
The Bob Newhart Show
The Dick Van Dyke Show
I Dream of Jeannie
I Love Lucy
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The Munsters
Taxi
Welcome Back, Kotter

It also includes a foreword written by Dick Van Dyke, and an introduction by author Tom Hill. Also, look for a few interesting tidbits about the shows scattered throughout the book, such as an update on the "Hi, Bob" greetings by anyone from every episode of "The Bob Newhart Show" throughout the episode guide for that show.

That lineup is a lot better than their current shows. the downfall of a network

I got it when it was first released and at the time I thought it was very cool. But, now you can look up episode guides and trivia online so I wouldn't consider it an essential.

Very cool! I haven't heard about that book before, but I'll look around and see if I can find it. I'm not a huge fan of any of those shows, but it sounds very informative!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if that book's out of print right now. You would think at least two of those shows would still be on Nick at Nite's schedule right now, but no, none of them are. However, don't be surprised if Nick at Nite chooses to publish a book all about "Fresh Prince" sometime soon.

I would be interested in seeing the episode guides for Welcome Back Kotter and Mary Tyler Moore. How much is it?

There's an excellent "I Love Lucy" and "Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" episode guide in Bart Andrews' I Love Lucy Book. Andrews' book also contains an handy-dandy episode finder. It contains words and key phrases (for example: bass fiddle, Cuban Pete, Forever Ember, PTA Show) that allow you to locate the title and synopsis for any show.

Both of Tom Hill's books, Nick at Nite's Classic TV Companion and TV Land To Go are out of print, but you can buy used copies at Amazon.com for 1 cent (and up) plus shipping.
