Default Nice Biography with some new information but there was 1 question that was still not

answered. Why the producers wanted the new landlord to be someone like DON KNOTTS. That question has never been answered.

New Info I didn't know before about the show

1. Norman Fell and John Ritter met 5 years before three's company

2. Fred Silverman overheard one of the T producers talking to CBS through a wall in a hotel room and then agreed to do the show

3. Suzane was initially passed over for the 3rd roomate because they felt she was TOO OLD, she actually was-(34)

4.

They did a bad job with it. They just skimmed through - not even talking about or discussing what Joyce did before and even after T.C. - In fact, Joyce was not even discussed all that much. Bad episode of BIO

Really about #1 I had no idea. & Suzanne if she was 34 I think on the show, they were maybe supposed to be in their 20's - so 34 by their standards, was indeed 'too old' The whole bio was not elaborate enough.

Cool

I'm sure the producers felt that if they had to replace the Ropers with a new landlord they wanted someone different not just another bickering middle aged couple. Also Don Knotts was well known from his days on "The Andy Griffith Show" and I'm sure the producers felt casting him would help the ratings and maybe even attract an older audience to the show.

I will still like to know why a goofy landlord was so necessary

I remember it was big news during the summer of 1979. I was a big Don Knotts fan and I couldn't wait to see him.

Have to agree, this episode of BIO was boring & not worth watching!
Same old stuff we already knew. It was nice to see new interviews with Priscilla Barnes & Richie Kline, however... Joyce, Suzanne, Jenilee, Ann & Chris Mann were all missed & really needed for this special! The whole thing looked like a cheap production edited in one hour! I would have rather seen famous celebrities who are fans of TC comment on the show rather than all these strange people that BIO thought was a good idea to have speak!
Thanks, but no thanks!
So far in my opinion the best documentary on Three's Company has been The E! True Hollywood Story followed by the one hour Entertainment Tonight's Three's Company/Three's A Crowd Special. At least those two special we got to see all the stars of TC talk about the show. Also a quick note, before & after this latest BIO on TC, they aired Biographies on John Ritter, Suzanne Somers & Don Knotts. All of these Bio's were far more entertaining than the latest one on the show. Perhaps because they all contained better stories told by the stars of TC themselves.
Sorry BIO, but you blew it with this latest BIO on Three's Company. Boring with a Capitol B!
